Azure Database for MySQL provides tools and methods to easily monitor usage, provide query performance insights, scale up or down resources (CPU, memory, IOPS), troubleshoot common issues, and find recommendations that can improve database performance. In addition, the service emits performance metrics and telemetry log to Azure Monitor service for extended monitoring and alerting. This gives us insights to understand the application and database behavior, get alerts, and build remediation action to respond to the alerts. Azure Monitor collects data from various monitored Azure resources, including Azure Database for MySQL. From the metrics and data collected, the service enables various operations including streaming data into external partner systems.
New Relic has been an essential monitoring platform for cloud applications for our customers. Today, I am happy to share that New Relic now provides an integration for Azure Database for MySQL. If you are using New Relic as a monitoring solution, you can now use it to monitor these Azure services and your applications.

This service enables developer and operations teams to work collaboratively to avoid downtime, resolve performance problems, and ensure that development and deployment cycles finish on time.
If you are using any MySQL on Azure and needed a cloud integration, you are able to get Azure Monitor metrics and inventory attributes into New Relic, both for observability and alerting purposes. The new integrations provide the following features on New Relic:
New Relic supported integrations with Azure Database for MySQL collect time series metrics, metadata, and custom tags from Azure Monitor and Azure Resource Manager to allow for flexible dashboarding, alerting and analytics. You can view this data in one place alongside information from the rest of your Azure environment and your entire stack in New Relic.
