The purpose of this blog is to give a general overview of the available commands to troubleshoot network connectivity issues with web apps, specifically when connecting the web apps to VNETs either in an App Service Environment (ASE) or a standard web app with a Point-to-Site VPN connection. These commands can be used via the web app’s Console available in the Azure Portal or the Kudu console.
I assume the following in this blog:
1. You are familiar with the terms and use cases of ping, DNS, VNETs, and nslookup.
2. You are familiar with
Kudu
or the Console blade in the Azure portal.
Examples:
tcpping google.com
tcpping google.com:80
tcpping 10.0.0.5:443
tcpping google.com:443 -t
Examples:
nameresolver google.com
nameresolver google.com 8.8.8.8
