When company laptops are not connected to the domain, when users are working from home, when they startup it can take 2-3 minutes at 'Applying Computer Settings' before they connect to the VPN. When connected to the domain in the office, they startup fast and acceptable. How can I speed up this startup time when users are working from home?

I'm sorry to have to point this out, man, because I do feel for your situation.

However, if your job depends on you maintaining 100+ tabs open in your browser, and a PC restart will get you fired, you either need a new job or you are doing something severely wrong.

A couple of pointers that may or may not help:

* bookmarks. Use them.

* a password vault. Find one you like and put it in play.

* monitoring software (like PRTG, Solarwinds, Nagios, etc.). Get one and put it to use.

I'm not going to ask "why do you need X tabs open 24/7", because it doesn't matter what the answer is. The design behind the answer is wrong. Whether it's something you did or something someone else is up to, it's wrong.

And to try to finger-point at MS because a critical security update required a re-start is wrong.

The only situation where it might even be remotely sane to prevent updates in the first place is when you have a unique configuration and unique software on the PC that demands the system remain unmodified from its current state (think: specialized lab equipment used to run a drug production line that cannot be modified without regulatory-required validation).

If your system is exposed (and with a browser open to 100+ tabs, I assume it is exposed), regular updates are a best-practice answer.

If you value your tabs so highly, then use a browser which can open a list of tabs at startup and maintain that list. Then when you start your browser, it will re-open those tabs.

Really. Re-think your strategy here. Being dependent on a browser open with 100+ tabs? Not a winning solution. New job or new plan of execution is needed.

You need to be in charge of this Microsoft as I never wanted to have my windows updated and always turn the auto update off but it always seemed to muscle itself in on my PC every time I put my pc to sleep.

I left about 100 tabs open and active for serveral months because all those things are my workS that need to be done.
I never shutdown my PC for months, only thing I did is put it to SLEEP.
Once the lastest update started to act up during the sleep of my pc and when my PC restarted

EVERY SINGLE TABS HAD COMPLETELY GONE!!

They are not automatically restored as usual as the very past previous updates...

I seriously need help..
All the tabs forcibly closed mean a lot to my life.

We recently pushed out a change to the WordPress on App Service creation experience which simplifies the configuration for WordPress. In the old experience you needed to specify database information, but in the new experience that is no longer required. Instead, we now choose a configuration that we know will work well for you to run WordPress with the least amount of issues.

In the meantime, we're also working with the folks who own different learning modules to get their training updated.

I have a few users whose emails are being blocked from sending.

We notice that this only occurs within one domain. M365 are blocking users from sending out emails within the organization. We check to enure that our tenant has not been compromised. This strangely happens randomly, and the policy is in its default settings. I read around the community and was unable to find a resolution. When will MS fix this issue ?

Outlook 2019 keeps crashing with Windows 10

Outlook 2019 opens ok, downloads mail, view emails, etc. All of a sudden it no longer downloads mail. I can still send. When I close Outlook it is still running. I have to go to task manager and kill Outlook. Tried reinstalling outlook - didn't help. Made sure no large files. Tried other fixes that I found on web. Any suggestions?

Hi Salman, the learning paths will only become available after the exam is live- for now, the best way to prepare is to use the skills measured document (which you can download from the AZ-305 page). There will be info available on each of the sub-topics either on Microsoft Learn or in the product documentation.

Activated Sandbox
Entered into Azure portal. I have got MICROSOFT LEARN SANDBOX under my profile in the top right corner of the page.
Create a resource --> WordPress --> Create button
Then I got the below-mentioned page

This is how I did as mentioned in the module but I don't get the details such as database provider to fill in.
Please point me where did I go wrong.

Yes, you are correct. I have just tried it and you no longer have to select the Database Provider and there is no way to change the App Service plan tier. This is an issue with the ARM template

Julian - I just looked at the reviews in Azure Marketplace and I am not allow in my issue. There are 5 reviews from today alone indicating the problem you mentioned. So you definitely got that right! Thanks again, but looks like I'll have to wait for an update to how things are launched from the marketplace link.

Julian - thanks so much for the quick reply! This does sound plausible, but I just went back into the create dialog and don't see anything that allows me to change the tier. If you look at the create screenshot that I posted, there is no "Database Provider" field listed, and I don't see any field that says "App Service plan/Location". I just guessed (incorrectly) that the Learn module was not quite in sync with the current Portal interface and that when I hit "Review + Create" at the bottom of the screen that the correct things would happen. Given the interface that I see, I can't tell how to specify my own database. Again, I don't know much about this, which is why I was going through the tutorial. But I do think your answer is correct, I just don't know how to select the free F1 tier.

The sandboxes are locked down with Azure policies to prevent use of expensive resources
The error you are getting is that you are trying to create a resource that is outside of the policies
Looks like you are trying to create a Web Apps with a Premium v2 tier which is a production level tier and quite expensive so I would guess that is what is being blocked
Looking at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/modules/azure-architecture-fundamentals/exercise-create-website you should be choosing the free F1 tier

Sandbox - "Template Deployment Failed..."

I am working on an MS Learn module exercise "Create a website hosted in Azure". I clicked the link to set up the sandbox, which seemed to work, and signed into Azure portal. The right hand side of the portal dashboard shows "MICROSOFT LEARN SANDBOX" under my profile email, and when I look at the directory setting, it also shows the sandbox selected as the current directory.

But when I follow the module directions and try to "create a resource" selecting "Wordpress" from the Azure marketplace, then selecting the learn-[...] resource group from the Concierge Subscription, the deployment fails. I've tried on different regions, but all give the same error: (Code: RequestDisallowedByPolicy)

I've been trying to figure this out for A While Now, and my sandbox only has 1h 4m remaining, so at this point I'll probably just wait until it times out and try again. But I would like to understand if there's something that I likely did wrong, so I don't get into the same situation with the next sandbox.

I've attached screenshots of the config & deploy errors, in case that's useful.

Hi Arman- thanks for this. Did you get all the answers to the knowledge checks right first time? The XP listed on the modules are the max you can receive. If you read through all the pages and get knowledge checks right first time- you get the max, if you take a couple of attempts at the questions it will half the amount of XP you receive.

Hi George- the requirements for the certifications and the certifications themselves change over time. The current 'Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert' requires you to pass MS-100, MS-101, which weren't around in 2019- so I imagine you'll need to pass these on-top of your renewal.

Feature Request

I have been switching between a monitor and conference room TV for work and have an idea that would help speed up the process.

Every time I switch the HDMIs I have to go into my settings and reconfigure my audio output and mic input to set as certain devices. I would like to have something like "Sound settings Loadouts" or "Saved Configurations." So that I can quick select one setup and be ready to go.

Hi! Which exams did you pass to get your enterprise administrator expert? You now need MS-100, MS-101 (which replaced 70-346 and 70-347) and one of the 'associate' admin certifications: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/m365-enterprise-administrator/

Enterprise Administrator Expert certification not show certificate in my profile site

I have successfully renewed my Enterprise Administrator Expert certification but its not showing in my profile

I have Enterprise Administrator Expert certificate and it will expired after 38 days , last week i toke the renewal assessment and i passed but now the certificate not appear , also when i try to access the renewal site its showing the status You'll need to earn this certification before you're eligible to renew it.

Can you please help fix this and reinstate it?

Hi Gustavo- if depends which app you're talking about; if it's Dynamics 365 CE (sales, customer service, marketing etc)- the data is stored in dataverse. Customers are responsible for backing up- but you can do this within Power Platform (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/backup-restore-environments). For further questions- the Dynamics 365 forums are a better place; https://community.dynamics.com/

One of our client that is having issues emailing to their domain (@client.com) from only one external domain & mail (@supplier.com) after migrated one mail host provider to Exchange Online (O365).

We can send an email to them and they get it, but they cannot respond back to the email or email us directly. I asked one of our clients to take a screenshot of the error message and this is what I get.

As per the exchange mail trace, the email didn't reach to Exchange Online (O365).

We have asked the mail host provider to check and not get it results.

Sure- when you follow that link, you want to click the 'Let's chat!' image under the 'Contact Us' heading. That will launch the chat widget- they'll need your MCID, so make sure you have that hand (top right corner of your learning dashboard).
