Tagging users - etiquette

So, there’s been some discussion and confusion about tagging other users in forum posts. While we do not have any absolute rules about this, I’d like to clarify a few things about when and when it is not appropriate to tag a user.

If you respond to a post, you will automatically tag the original poster. While you can remove this tag, it’s not the same as intentionally adding a tag and doesn’t really apply to this etiquette document.
When you do decide to tag a user, think about why you are doing so. Here’s a few tips along those lines:

If you are responding to a thread that already includes that user, they will see the response regardless of a tag.
If you are in a space managed by Microsoft employees, such as Edge Insiders, no need to tag them as they are already monitoring that space, and probably your post.
If you need to reach members of our Tech Community team, it’s much more efficient to email us at techcommunity@microsoft.com which is our official support mechanism, than to tag us in posts.
If the product has a support channel located elsewhere, better to reach out to that support channel as tagging a Microsoft employee will not guarantee you a timely answer.
If a user indicates they would rather not be tagged, please respect their decision and don’t tag them in the future.

We do not have a rule against tagging other users but we recommend doing so with caution, Give users the chance to respond, as a tag can come across as “poke, are you still there.” Think of tagging as a last resort or emergency mechanism if you have an inquiry without a response for a long period of time (a week plus) or a time-sensitive emergency.

I'm having trouble with Microsoft Tech Community. What's the best way to reach out?

While our aim is to provide you with a perfect, trouble-free, smooth experience in the Microsoft Tech Community, realistically, we know that's not always possible. So what's the best way to reach out?

Here are a few scenarios and the best way to handle each one.

Someone posted a spam message.

On the right side of the message, there's a drop-down arrow with options. Click "Report Inappropriate Content," and offer the context (indicating it's spam). Our team reviews these posts on a daily basis and will consider and remove any messages we confirm to be spam.

Someone is being abusive or rude.

Similarly as per above, "Report Inappropriate Content" is your best bet in this scenario. Please note we have a Code of Conduct if you have any doubt about whether content is appropriate.

I'm having technical issues with the community.

Reach out to techcommunity@microsoft.com and we'll be able to help you.

I have general questions about Tech Community.

If you have questions about the Tech Community or elements of it, we recommend posting in our Community Discussion space.

I have some ideas on how to improve Tech Community.

We have a Community Ideas board where we track suggestions and feedback. This is the best place to submit it as we'll take into consideration suggestions based on amount of upvotes and interest.

What not to do:

Please don't escalate any conflict. If someone is being abusive or rude, please report it and let us handle it.

Create a knowledge-based community in Yammer by using QnA Maker and Flow

This article provides steps to set up a Yammer group to provide automated answers to questions posted in the group. This solution integrates Yammer with Azure QnA Maker and Microsoft Flow, and uses SharePoint Online and Outlook features available to all Yammer Office 365 connected groups.

QnA Maker, a service that builds a question and answer service from your semi-structured content, is used to find relevant answers for user's natural language questions.
Flow provides the necessary workflow between QnA maker, the Yammer group, SharePoint Online, and Outlook to handle questions that don't already have answers defined and store new questions and answers.

Once you have this integration set up with a small list of questions and answers, users will be able to post questions in the group and receive automatic answers. If a user asks a question that doesn't have a clear match, the proposed answer is forwarded to a specific person to verify. Each verified answer is included as a response to the question, and also expands the knowledge base so it can be used for future questions.

After you get the integration working with the sample content provided, you can replace the sample content with relevant questions and answers for your organization.

Prerequisites

An Azure subscription and an account with permissions to create resource groups and resources.
An Office 365 license: Business Essentials/Premium or Enterprise E1/E3/E5.
Office 365 connected groups enabled for your Yammer network.
A Yammer Office 365 connected group to use for the automated knowledge base. Because this group will be connected to QnA Maker, it should be a group dedicated to the knowledge base.

Step 1: Download files needed for this integration

This article has two associated flow packages and an Excel spreadsheet containing sample questions and answers.

Download the files from the Yammer technical community.
Double-click the Knowledge-based-community-files.ZIP file to unzip the files. You'll see the following files:

File	Description
SampleFAQs.xlsx	Sample questions to seed the automated knowledge base.
YammerFAQs.zip	Zip file containing a package for the flow that connects Yammer to QnAMaker.
AddItemToQNAMaker.zip	Zip file containing a package for the flow that connects the group's SharePoint list to QnAMaker.

Step 2: Use QnA Maker to create a knowledge base

In this step, you'll use the Microsoft Azure QnA Maker web service to create an instance of QnA Maker for your organization. If you want to read about QnA Maker before you get started, see What is QnA Maker?.

Open https://www.qnamaker.ai/Create, and sign in with your Azure account
Click Create a QnA service. This opens a new browser window to the Azure portal.

a. Enter a Name. For example: qna-maker-yammer.

b. Choose a Management pricing tier. F0 is enough for this sample.

c. Choose a Search pricing tier. F is enough for this sample.

d. If Name does not pass validation, update it.

e. Select values for the other fields and then click Create.

f. After the deployment finishes, go to the Resource group.

g. Open the Cognitive Services resource, and then click Keys.

h. Copy the value for KEY 1. This value will be used to initialize the Cognitive Services Key variable in the Yammer FAQs flow that will be imported and updated later.
Go back to the knowledge base create page that you opened.

a. Click refresh this page, and then choose the QnA service from your Azure directories and subscriptions.
In the Name field, enter a name for the kb. For example: Sample QnA FAQ
Populate the kb with a base source by clicking + Add file and uploading the SampleFAQs.xlsx file that you downloaded in Step 1.

Note:
If you don't customize the Sample FAQ to the language you want for your knowledge base then English will be used.
Click Create your kb.
Click Save and train.
Click PUBLISH.

a. Click Publish.

b. From the Success page, copy the three strings indicated in red rectangles below. You'll use these to initialize variables in the Yammer FAQs flow.
- Use the top one for the Knowledge Base Id variable.
- Use the middle one for the Knowledge Base Service Host variable.
- Use the bottom one for the Knowledge Base Endpoint Key variable and QnA Maker connection.

Step 3: Create a list of intitial questions and answers in the Yammer group's SharePoint site

In this step you'll create the structure for the list of questions and answers, and populate it with some sample questions and answers. Once you get the integration working with the sample, you can replace the content of the list with questions and answers that apply to your own content.

Open an Office 365 connected group in Yammer and click SharePoint Site.
Copy the site URL. You'll use this to configure the Create item node of the Yammer FAQs flow.

a. Create a new list named QnA. Click + New, and then click List.

b. In the Name textbox, enter QnA, and then click Create.
To rename the Title column to Question, click Title, click Column settings, and then click Rename.

a. In the Name textbox, enter Question, and then click Save.
To create a new column named Answer, click + Add column, and then click Multiple lines of text.

a. In the Name textbox, enter Answer, and then click Save.
In your new list, upload a few questions and answers. There is a sample set of questions and answers in the SampleFAQs.xlsx file in the download that you can use as you experiment with your integration.

Step 4: Update the flow that connects your Yammer group with QnA Maker

Open https://flow.microsoft.com, and sign in with your work account.
Upload the YammerFAQs.zip flow package that you downloaded in Step 1.

a. Click My flows.

b. Click Import.

c. Click Upload, then select the YammerFAQs.zip file you downloaded.
After the package has been uploaded, modify the IMPORT SETUP configuration for the Related resources.

a. In the QnA Maker resource, click Select during import.

b. Click + Create new.

c. Click + New connection, then search for QnA Maker.

d. Click the QnA Maker provided by Microsoft.

e. Paste the Knowledge Base Endpoint Key into the API Key box, then click Create.

f. Go back to the Import setup panel and click Refresh list.

g. The QnA Maker connection you just created will appear. Select it, then click Save.
Use the steps under step 4 above as a guide to configure the rest of the connections (shown in the red rectangles in the picture below). Refer to the screenshots below for all the connections to help you search for and locate the appropriate connections.

At the bottom of the page, click Import.

a. After the flow has successfully imported, click Open flow.
Update the flow.

a. Click the first node, and choose the Yammer group you created or used earlier.

b. Use the values you collected earlier to initialize the variables:
- Knowledge Base
  - Id
  - Service Host
  - Endpoint Key
- Cognitive Services Key
  
  c. To initialize a variable's value, click an Initialize variable node, and then paste the value into the Valuebox.
  
  d. Initialize Approval Assigned To, and fill the value with your Office 365 work email.
  
  This sets you up as the official approver of suggested answers from the QnA Maker for your knowledge base. This is useful while you're building and testing your integration, and you can change it later to the person who will be responsible for verifying proposed answers.
  
  e. Find the Create item node and paste in the SharePoint Site URL. To find Create item:
  1. Click Check if the message is a question.
  2. Under the If yes condition, click Apply to each answer.
  3. Click Check the confidence level.
  4. In the If no section, click If Approved.
  5. In the If no section, click Create item.
  6. Paste the SharePoint Site URL in the Site Address text box.
  7. Click Save.

Step 5: Import and update the flow that adds items from Yammer to QNA Maker

To import AddItemToQnAMakerFlow.zip flow package that you downloaded in Step 1, use the same process you used to import the previous flow.

Note:

Instead of creating a new SharePoint Connection, you can select the one you created earlier.
Update the flow.

a. Click the first node, and paste the SharePoint Site URL into the Site Address text box.

b. Use the values you collected earlier to initialize Knowledge Base Id and Cognitive Services Key.

To save the flow, click Save.

Step 6: Try it! Ask sample questions in the Yammer group

Now that you have everything set up, you can ask some suggested sample questions in your Yammer group, and see how they are turned into official answers, using the sample content you put in SharePoint. You'll see what happens when QnA Maker identifies an answer, and when it isn't sure it has an answer.

Ask the following sample question in your Yammer group: Who is the target audience for the QnA Maker tool?

Wait up to two minutes for an answer.
Ask a question to the Yammer Group that is slightly different then what the knowledge base is expecting, such as: Please let me know is the QnA Maker cost-free?

a. The Cognitive Services will identify that this question is similar to one that it has an answer for, but it is not quite confident enough that it is correct, so it will trigger an email for approver verification.

b. The approver will then review the answer that the Cognitive Service wants to provide and then Approve it Outlook.

c. A new answer will then be provided in the Yammer conversation

d. The question asked will be added to the knowledge base by the flow so that the question can be answered quicker in the future.

Note:

If you ask the same question again, you will get the answer immediately.
Ask a question that is not in the knowledge base: Can we create a live event in a Yammer group?

a. Just like before, Cognitive Services will look for approval. In Outlook, reject the wrong answer, and input the correct answer in the comments box, then click Submit.

b. A new answer will be provided in the Yammer conversation.

c. The question asked will be added to the QnA list by the Yammer FAQs flow.

d. Finally, the newly added SharePoint list item will be added to the knowledge base by the Add Item to QnA Marker flow.

Note:

If you ask the same question again, you will get the answer immediately.

Step 7: Replace the sample content with your own

Now that you have the integration working with sample content, replace the sample content with appropriate content for your organization.

Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) Guidelines

An Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) is the same as an “Ask Me Anything (AMA)” on Reddit,or YamJam on Yammer. It provides the opportunity for the community to ask questions and have a discussion with a panel of internal and external experts on a particular topic.

In order to get the best value out of this hour, here is an outline of how the flow of the AMA will go and some guidelines for etiquette.

There will be a panel of Microsoft experts as well as MVPs on hand to answer questions about product and strategy. They will be introduced at the beginning.
At the scheduled kick off time, an announcement will be made notifying group members that the AMA has started. Please respond to the initial welcome thread introducing yourself, but make sure you post your questions in a separate thread.
Please read through the threads before posting. Your question may have been answered already.
Be patient. The panel will try to get to every question, but some questions may go unanswered.
Please be polite and follow normal Community Etiquette (see our Code of Conduct for reference). Any personal attacks, inappropriate language, or promotional content will be deleted.
Please stay on topic. Discussions pertaining to other topics, products, or services belong in the appropriate group. If you would like to submit an idea for an AMA topic, please message one of the admins privately.
When the AMA period is over, the group will remain open so people can review the content and continue to reply to existing threads, but do not expect a prompt reply. The moderator will create a summary of the AMA and share it to the community in the days following the event.

Tips:

Use the "Reply" function to reply to an individual comment. This will make the thread much easier to follow.
You can hover over the “in reply to” portion of the comment to see the context.
If you are receiving too many emails or notifications, you can change your settings by going to Profile > My Subscriptions.

How do I change my community identity? (username & full name)

Changing your username

You can choose a new username by clicking your avatar at the top right, and clicking My Settings.

Alternatively you can also click this link.

User names can be between 4 and 40 characters in length and contain 0-9,a-z,A-Z, underscore (_) or hyphen(-). Usernames must be unique and if your desired username has been taken then you will be asked to choose another.

Note: users names with spaces and periods(.) are no longer supported.

Changing your full name

Your name is pulled into our system from your Microsoft account, so we aren't able to change it on our end.

If your account is using a personal email account, to change your name, update the name here, then log back into the community using this link.

If your account is using a work email account, you'll need to speak to someone in your organization who is an admin and have them update the name in the O365 User Admin panel. Then log back into the community using this link.

Can I merge or transfer the account I use to login to the Microsoft Tech Community

I am using my employer's credentials to login to the Microsoft Tech Community but I am moving employers. Can I take my account with me?

Unfortunately, that's not possible. We're unable to change the email address on your account since your work owns the original email address.

What we can do is transfer over your contributor level (for example, Senior Member, Regular Contributor, etc.) and any roles you may have received (such as Member of the Week) to a different or new Tech Community account. Email us at techcommunity@microsoft.com and we can do this for you.

Please note we cannot transfer any of your contributions (discussion forum posts, etc.) from one account to another.

I'd like to change my email address on my account from one personal account to another (Outlook.com, etc.)

This is possible. You'll need to create a second account with the new email address, which will allow us to capture some login information to apply to the first account.

Once you've done this, email our team at techcommunity@microsoft.com and we can sort it for you.

How to ask a question

Click on 'Communities' in the navigation bar.
Choose a community that best fits your question or idea.
Select a space within your community to pose your question or idea.
To start a conversation, click 'Start a New Conversation'.
Complete the subject and body sections of your conversation. Add pre-defined labels or create your own message tags on the far right. Click “Post” to publish your conversation.

Engaging with posts

Like posts by clicking on the “thumbs-up” icon at the bottom of the post.
Share posts by clicking on the post and selecting a social sharing icon.
Reply to a post directly in the feed, or clicking on the post ('Read More') for more response options.
- You can open a rich text editor to include graphics, hyperlinks, media and styling in a reply.
  1. Open the entire post (click, ‘Read More’).
  2. Click ‘Reply’ to open the rich text editor. Selecting ‘Quick Reply’ will open the simple text response box.

In the response editor, you can control your subscription to the thread, add tags, and upload relevant files. When you are finished, click “Post” to publish your response.

How to send a private message

Click on the avatar or name of the member you want to private message.
Click 'Message'.
Type in your subject, body and click send message.

Subscribe to an RSS feed

Find the space or conversation you want to subscribe to and click the top right drop down menu.
Click “Subscribe to RSS Feed.”

Home Feed, Communities and Spaces

Home Feed

The Home Feed shares activity based on your Communities and Spaces you join. You can filter Home Feed news by Popular, Newest, Experts and Unanswered.

Communities

Communities are platforms that share news, discussions, blogs and ideas about Microsoft Products and Solutions. You can become a member of the Communities that matter most to you.

Spaces

Within each community are Spaces, which are subgroups of a community. They host discussion topics and ideas that relate to their Community.

Favorite Spaces
You can join and favorite Spaces most relevant to you, which will personalize your feed. Select Favorite Spaces by clicking on the heart in the right side of a Space's window.

To see a list of your favorite Spaces, click on the heart in the top right of your screen. You no longer need to go into the community to get to your favorite community spaces.

Managing Preferences, Subscriptions and Notifications

Subscriptions to blogs and spaces enables you receive an email notification when a new blog or post has been published to what you are subscribed to. You will automatically be subscribed to topics you participate in. See the guidance below on managing subscriptions.

Setting Preferences

You will automatically be subscribed to topics you participate in. To disable this, click on your avatar at the top right of the navigation bar and select 'My Settings – Complete Profile'.
In the 'Preferences' Tab, deselect 'Automatically subscribe me to topics or reviews I participate in'.

Manage Subscription Notifications

Click on the 'Subscriptions & Notifications' tab.
To customize notifications, click on 'Notification Settings'.

Subscribe to Blogs or Spaces

You can also choose what blogs and spaces you would like to subscribe to.

Within the blog or space, hover the drop-down arrow next to 'Options' or 'Conversations', and then click 'Subscribe' in the drop down list.
To unsubscribe from a blog or space, hover the drop-down arrow next to 'Options' or 'Conversations', and then click 'Unsubscribe' in the drop down list.

Completing your profile & connecting social media profiles

Changing an avatar

Click on the default avatar at the top right of the navigation bar and select 'My Settings'.
Click the 'Avatars' tab.
Click 'Upload an Avatar' to add your own photo.

Avatar badging rings
You might notice some community members have colored rings around their avatars. This means they were awarded a specific badge. Here is a breakdown of each badging ring:
- Blue ring - Microsoft Employee
- Red ring - Community Manager
- Green ring - MVP

Create a bio

Click your avatar at the top right of the navigation bar and select “My Settings”.
Click on 'Personal Information', under the Personal tab.
Provide your organization’s name, your title, bio, and other details about yourself. When finished, click 'Save'.

Add social media accounts

You can also add your social media accounts to your profile in 'Personal Information', under the Personal tab.

Click on 'Social Media Profiles'.
Add URLs linking to your social media profiles, then click 'Save'.

What is my User ID?

From time to time you maybe asked to join closed communities, to help us add you quickly you will be asked to provide your Microsoft Tech Community User ID.

To find your Microsoft Tech Community User ID follow these steps:

Login to the Microsoft Tech Community
click your profile image in the top right (inside yellow box in image below)
Click Profile image top right, then My profile underneath
Next click My Profile (inside the green box on the image above)

Your User ID is the number at the end of the URL you have now landed on.

(Example: my profile is: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/10784 and so my User ID is 10784)

Yours should take the same format.

When data is collected, we want to make sure it’s the right choice for you. To help you as an end user and a participant of this community to exercise your Data Subject Request (DSRs) rights under General Data Protection Regulations we provide the following functionalities. The below sections explain step by step process on how you can view, edit and delete your personal information (customer data). To learn more about the data collected by Microsoft and it’s use please view the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

View and Export personal data

To view all your data collected by PowerApps Community:

Navigate to Microsoft Tech Community
Sign in by clicking “Sign In” link at the top right.
Once logged in, click on your profile avatar and select “My Profile” link.My Profile Link
You can view all information related to your activity with the Microsoft Tech Community.
You can update your profile, view things you have liked recently, your uploaded photos and using the filter in the My Activity tab to view:

Conversations you have started
Conversations you have replied to
Any replies that have been marked as “Best Response”
All Conversations you have interacted with.

You may also export their personal data in json format using below steps:

Tech Community Account Closure

We have recently changed how you close your Microsoft Tech Community Account. You may now close your account directly from your user settings page when you are signed in. This will delete your profile and anonymize your posts. In accordance with our Terms of Use, we will not delete your posts entirely.

Exceptionally, you can also request your account closed by emailing our team. We will only close accounts via this method once we have confirmed your identity and that you are the account owner.

Note: Once an account deletion request has been completed, either by yourself or our team, it takes 72 hours before the same credentials can be used to login again and deleted accounts can not be recovered.

Using the Microsoft Privacy Compliance dashboard

**Updated Nov 15th, 2019 **

We will shortly be changing the process within the Microsoft Tech Community which means you will no longer be able to export your data or close your accounts from the Microsoft Privacy Compliance dashboard / O365 User Admin pages. The only way to do either of these tasks will be to follow the steps above.

Accounts deleted or extracts requested via this page before November 18th, 2019 will still be actioned.

It is a central destination for education and thought leadership on best practices, product news, live events, and roadmap. Get started by signing in. You'll need a Microsoft email to register (@outlook, @hotmail, @live, etc.)

DO:

Be positive, kind, and courteous. “Like” posts and ask questions. Be friendly with others on the network. Feel free to provide feedback, but keep it constructive.
Look at the product groups and join conversations. Groups are where most of the conversations happen. Browse through the groups and join the ones that interest you.
Post to the right place! Is your question about Exchange? Post it to the Exchange group. Using tags like #SharePoint and #2018 help people understand what you are talking about. Not sure where to post? Feel free to message an admin.
Mark answers as correct. This helps ‘close’ the thread so folks know you’ve received the answer you were looking for.
Search before you post! There is a chance that your question has already been answered. The search function on this platform is very powerful, take advantage of it. Speaking of which...
Keep private stuff private. Double check to make sure you are posting confidential information responsibly and in the correct place.
Add a profile picture and fill out your profile! It’s easy and quick, and helps people discover you as an expert.
Fine-tune your email notification preferences. Go to your settings to set your preferred notifications. /t5/user/myprofilepage/tab/user-preferences
Invite others to the network. Reference the network using our shortlink http://aka.ms/mstechcommunity

DON’T

Post questions expecting to find support to break-fix issues. The best place to get Microsoft support is: http://answers.microsoft.com/ or if for Office 365 open a support ticket in your Office 365 Admin Console. If you have a problem, we want to make sure it’s tracked, ticketed and escalated as needed so you’re back up and running as quickly as possible. We do not offer ticketed support in the Microsoft Tech Community.

Click ‘Sign In’ at the top right of the home page.

Enter in your email address and password. You can choose one of the below options:

Use your Microsoft Account (MSA) which could be an @outlook.com, @live.com, @hotmail.com or other personal email address that you have set as a Microsoft account.

2. Use the email address associated to your Office 365 or Azure account, which could be your work email address.

Step 1: Setup your Profile

Enter your Work email and choose a Username (letters, numbers, dashes, and underscores, no spaces). If you’re a Microsoft Azure of Office customer, add the Organization ID (i.e. abby@companyname.com) associated to your Azure of Office 365 account.

Step 2: Code of Conduct

Read and accept the Microsoft Tech Community Code of Conduct, check the button to indicate you’ve done so, and then click register.

Identify sentiment of comments in a Yammer group by using Azure Cognitive Services and Flow

This article shows you how to set up a Yammer group to collect feedback and ideas for continued improvement, and have one person in your organization notified immediately when a specific sentiment, such as positive or negative feedback is posted. This solution uses Azure Cognitive Services to analyze the posted messages, and uses Microsoft Flow to connect Yammer, Azure Cognitive Services, SharePoint Online and Outlook.

Once you have this integration set up with examples of positive and negative feedback, an email will be sent to a designated person whenever a negative message is posted so that a response can be posted quickly. You can easily modify the integration to send email to track other types of opinions.

Prerequisites

An Azure subscription and an account with permissions to create Resource groups and other Azure resources.
An Office 365 license: Business Essentials/Premium or Enterprise E1/E3/E5.

Step 1: Download flow package needed for this integration

This article has an associated flow package that is stored in the file DetectSentiment.zip.

Download the DetectSentiment.zip file from the Yammer technical community.

DetectSentiment.zip	Zip file containing a package for the flow that connects Yammer to Azure Cognitive Services.

Step 2: Create Yammer group

In this step, you create the Yammer group to post the messages to.

In a web browser, open https://www.yammer.com, and sign in with your organization account.
In Yammer, click + Create a group.
Click INTERNAL GROUP.
1. Enter a Group Name. For example: zzYammerGroup.
2. Enter Group Members.
3. Select Public Access.
Click Create Group.

The newly created group is added in the left navigation.

Step 3: Create a SharePoint list to store sentiment data

In this step, you create a SharePoint list to store the sentiment data that Azure Cognitive Services uses to determine what is negative feedback.

Click the button in the top left of the screen and select SharePoint.

Make sure you would have necessary permissions to create a SharePoint list in a SharePoint site.
Create a new list named SentimentAnalysis.
1. Click + New > List.
2. In the Name textbox, enter SentimentAnalysis, then click Create.
Create a new column named Score.
1. Click + Add column > Number.
2. In the Name textbox, enter Score, then click Save.
Create a new column named Message Link.
1. Click + Add column > Hyperlink.
2. In the Name textbox, enter Message Link, then click Save.
Copy and save the URL to the list you created, you will need it in subsequent steps.

Step 4: Create a Cognitive Service

Create a Cognitive Service to perform sentiment analysis for the messsages posted in the Yammer group.

In a web browser, open the Azure Portal.
Click + Create a resource, then enter Create a resource in the search box.
1. Select Cognitive Services.
2. Click the Create button.

1. Enter a Name. For example: SentimentAnalysis
2. Select a Subscription.
3. Select a Location.
4. Select a Pricing tier For example: S0
5. Create a new Resource group.
6. Click the Create button.
  
  A new Cognitive Services instance is created.
Select the Cognitive Service you just created. You will find it in the new Resource group.
In the RESOURCE MANAGEMENT section, click Keys.
Copy and save the NAME and KEY values, you will need them in subsequent steps.

Step 5: Import and update the Yammer Sentiment Analysis flow

Use the Yammer Sentiment flow zip file you downloaded in Step 1 and update it to work in your environment.

In a web browser, open https://flow.microsoft.com, and sign in with your work account.
Upload the package.
1. Click My flows.
2. Click Import.
3. Click Upload, then select the DetectSentiment.zip file you downloaded.
After the package has been uploaded, modify the IMPORT SETUP configuration for the Related resources.
1. In the sentiment-analysis resource, click Select during import.
2. Click + Create new.
3. Click + New connection, then search for Text Analytics.
4. Click the Text Analytics connector provided by Microsoft.
Enter the KEY you saved in a previous step for the Account Key.
Enter the Endpoint you saved in a previous step for the Site URL.
Use the previous steps as a guide to configure the remaining connections (shown in the red rectangles in the picture below). Refer to the screenshots below for all the connections to help you search for and locate the appropriate connections.

3. Yammer Connection
Click Import at the bottom of the page.
After the flow has successfully imported, click Open flow.
Update the flow.
1. Click the first node in the flow.
2. In the Group Id dropdown list, select the Yammer group you created earlier, then select the correct network.
3. Click the Create item node.
In the Site address dropdown list, select the SharePoint site where you created the SharePoint list.
In the List name dropdown list, select the Sharepoint SentimentAnalysis list you created.
1. Detect if this is negative or positive comment from Yammer group.
2. Configure the email information.
3. In the To textbox, enter the email address where you would like notifications to be sent when the sentiment value indicates the message posted in Yammer is negative.
4. In the Subject textbox, enter the subject you would like the email to have.
Click Save.

Step 6: Post messages in the Yammer group to trigger the sentiment analysis flow

Post message in Yammer discussion group to trigger the Yammmer Sentiment Analysis flow.

In a web browser, open https://www.yammer.com, and sign in with your organization account. Find and open the Yammer group you created earlier.
Post positive and negative messages to the group.

Negative message example: I am very frustrated by our lack of healthy eating options in the cafeteria. What can we do to improve this?

Positive message example: I'm really loving our focus on empowering all employees to achieve more. So proud to work for the amazing company!

Both the positive and negative messages are added to the SharePoint list you created.

If you posted a negative message, an email is sent to the Inbox you configured.

Please note that it takes a few minutes for the flow to execute after the messages are posted to Yammer.

Starting August 28th, security improvements might impact users running the Yammer desktop app on Windows 7 64 bit running EMET (Enhanced Mitigation Experience Toolkit).

NOTE: There is no impact to users running other versions of Windows, or running Windows 7 64 bit without EMET. [How does this affect me?] For users running Windows 7 64 bit and EMET, the Yammer desktop may not launch.

What action do you need to take?

To work around this, admins can do one of the following: ·

Remove Yammer.exe from the list of applications monitored by EMET.
Disable the caller mitigation setting and EAF+ for Yammer.exe.

Using OBS Studio to produce a live event in Yammer

When you’re ready to produce a live event in Yammer using the OBS Studio external encoder, follow step 3 in Organize a live event in Yammer. When you get to the fifth step in that section and are ready to connect OBS Studio, follow the steps below.

Open OBS Studio.

2. In OBS Studio, click Settings.

3. In the left column, click Stream.

4. In the URL input box, paste the Server Ingest URL you copied from Teams.

5. Enter a Stream key, for example, you could enter 123456.

6. Click OK.

7. Add scenes and sources, and then click Start Streaming.

8.When the event is ready to go live, go back to Teams, and continue with the sixth step in Step 3: Produce the event in Teams or Stream.

Can I decide whether to share videos with specific people or my entire organization?

Yes. You can share videos within your entire organization or set specific permissions based on a Security Group or a specific set of people using the ?Shared with? setting that is available during upload or edit. Learn more about setting permissions here.
