Was this announced in the M365 or Azure Admin Message Center? There is also nothing about anonymizing usage data in the M365 Road Map, other than a reference to Teams usage anonymization in May 2021. Please share where this was announced or communicated prior to August 30th 2021 for a Sept. 1 2021 implementation. This change broke several reports in our environment that require user information to be in the report. We have reverted, but would have appreciated advanced communication. Thank you!

Hi Kevin, it looks like this error code is indicating a connectivity problem on your device. I'm able to successfully run the ODT to download and install with MEC so it doesn't appear to be a bug. I would suggest verifying your connection, trying on a wired connection, or using a different PC.

Specify email domain of group in MS Graph

When creating a Unified Group through a request send to Graph, it is not possible to manipulate the domain part of the primarySMTP address.

In our tenant we have multiple domains and each domain has to have there own groups. Sticking to one default domainname is not enough.

Specifing an alternative domain is possible with the Exchangeonline powershell module so why would it not be available to Graph!

We have a management platform that automates, among other things, onboarding and offboarding of Teams users. This includes provisioning of voice services for those users. We also automate management of auto attendants and call queues. Finally, we orchestrate migration of voice services from legacy PBXs (e.g. Cisco Call Manager) to Teams - hunt groups and auto attendants to Teams call queues and auto attendants, as well as end user migration. To accomplish all of this we currently, out of necessity, use PowerShell and service accounts with administrative access, and without MFA. We are receiving a great deal of pushback from our service provider and enterprise clients about our use of admin accounts for this, but at this point there seems to be no alternative. We would like to see one of two things: either full support for modern authentication in the Teams PowerShell module, or Graph API support for Teams voice services (formerly Skype for Business Online).

Insert PDF into OneNote

I was wondering if you could help me understand why I keep getting the following message every time I try inserting a PDF into OneNote. I have tried under my own personal account (which I have let my subscription lapse) and also under my school account (which I have full access to Office 365). I have attached a screen shot of the message I receive.

Be able to configure Teams (built-in and custom) tabs with Graph without user interaction on 1st use

At this moment (sept 2021) it's not possible to configure, applying a OneNote, Planner, etc. to these tabs without users interaction, the (built-in and custom) added Teams tabs via Graph calls.

We can apply a tenant template with a script and graph calls where we can create both a Teams with the different tabs, but it is missing to do the tab configuration via Graph. This is a bad user experience because these Graph-added tabs will need to be configured by the channels' users on their first use.

Request: can you also make the configuration (applying a OneNote, Planner, etc. to these tabs without users interaction) of the tabs by Graph calls?

The block will only affect Outlook. When Outlook communicates to the server it says, "I am Outlook and I am build XX.X.XXXXX.XXXXX," and the server can then check if the user is using an appropriate build.

OneNote with both Work and Personal Accounts

I have OneNote for Windows 10 running on my Surface Pro X. It is connected to a work account for a set of notebooks and a personal MS account for another set. However, after a few days it disconnects from the personal account and tells me I need to sign in again to sync.

The problem is, it doesn't give me the ability to sign back into my personal account. See the sign-in screen below and notice how I can't choose a personal account.

The only way I've been able to remedy this is to completely remove all accounts (which removes all sync'd notebooks), re-add both accounts, and re-sync all notebooks. It will then work for a few days and then I will get the "you must sign-in" notice again.

Seems like there are two problems. (1) It keeps kicking me out of my personal account for no apparent reason (requiring me to sign-in), (2) I can't simply re-sign-in to my personal account.

Any ideas?

Could you update your comment with some reviews of the nearest good ones and what's lacking, a number seem to be missing features like OCR or handwriting support which Onenote has by default...

Microsoft One Note for windows 10

The Microsoft Onenote for Windows 10 is very limited compared to 2016.

The following is missing:

1. You cannot customise your Ribbon

2. Creating tags is extremely limited as you cannot highlight your custom tags. You can only choose an Icon.

3. They should also let you mention someone in one note like you can with the Excel @mention function.

4. inserting a function where you can Freeze the top row of a table.

4. This version limits you a lot on the options 2016 used to have.

MS must decide; does it want OneNote to be 'All things to all people', or does it want it to be 'Razor-sharp focused in several key areas'? Both are doable, but with ultimate compromises that, if executed well, will ensure OneNote goes from interesting to, totally indispensable for even larger (& faster-growing) swathes of users.

Some excellent point made here by all, & especially by Bob;

MS will miss the boat if they don't listen, there are already several very intriguing upstarts. All of them are a long way from the full feature-set/utility of 1N, but most are designed in such a way, that they'll catch up sooner than MS assumes.

Their ear is more attuned to their different users & their use-cases, they've moved to cover some compelling niches/use-cases, & they don't pigeon-hole themselves into only supporting their products, so they can force even more $ or compliance from the user.

5ys+ from now, after shifting the deck chairs x times, OneNote could well be the crusty/undynamic option that's on its way out, compared to the other options around.

Very nicely stated as the OneNote versions are perceived differently depending on users and their personas.

OneNote is the one of the best products that Microsoft has ever built, even with its flaws. Deciding to improve the product by using the "OneNote 2016" platform was a great decision. Let's hope that they stay committed to the longevity of OneNote and not kill or mortally wound it in the process as they have done in the past with other Microsoft products. OneNote can be the product that makes using computers universally useful to everybody.

This forum is the key to making OneNote bulletproof. The forum is improving as issues are getting more attention and are answered by more monitors. In the past issues were acknowledged, but never actually closed. Users would suggest, question, or complain without having final solutions published. Publishing the solutions is crucial. Nobody likes to open an issue, have it praised by others and never know if it is being considered or fixed. There needs to be a begining and end to every issue.

I too sent feedback via the on app link, on this apparently device specific fault. My guess is that someone at Microsoft is likely receiving a lot of feedback considering the popularity of the S8. Personally, I consider OneNote an essential part my monthly subscription for Office 365, so my expectations are high for it to be fully functional like the other more seasoned android and desktop applications like word, excel, etc. It would be ideal if Microsoft offered a more structured crash reporting feedback system via each app. I remain optimistic they will find and fix the fault before 2022. Until then here's more feedback since they likely have access to this community "Eff you Microsoft. Eff you Samsung. Your products are failing to support thousands of small businesses everyday day since this fault began, and during a pandemic economic recovery no less. Get it together."

From considering all the possible, exciting changes, honestly, I can't imagine them all coming, especially since how slow OneNote has evolved in recent times.

Why so many features bottled up for improvement? OneNote users have different (and sometimes multiple) personas. The different versions and platforms for OneNote now have seemed like design teams for each having different personas in mind. That's OK, though for right now, 2021 going on 2022. Why not aim to deliver something akin to web framework themes -- except easily switchable? These would collect option settings that correspond to diferent use personas. These could be, writer/blogger persona, feature designer, team meeting logger, and so on. Or at least survey users to cluster feature requests by how they use the product.

To take one example, why is it so much harder to work with images in 2016 than in other Office products? MS apparently focuses on taking notes rather than prepping articles: do your layout somewhere else, friend...

I hope we start to hear more than change is coming soon, given how much need has been bottled up--differentiated by use persona.

Hi all, I'm from the UK and have just started experiencing the same problem with OneNote on my Galaxy S8 with Android 9. Again, Mark's exit-via-sticky-notes strategy works.

I also informed Microsoft about the issue via the 'send feedback' option in the ellipsis menu on the phone app.

I have also run into an undocumented limitation with OneNote's note container length.
My OneNote Notebook is 285MB, but has a page that when exported to Word is 1,286 pages long. Somewhere around 1,123 pages, the OneNote note container truncates my note. If I perform a search, it will return a count indicating that there are matches below where the note container cuts off visibility to the rest of my document.

Interestingly, when I was only using OneNote 2016 (16.0.5014.1000), the entire page would display. When I accessed that page from OneNote 365 (16.0.14326.20164), it truncated the page for both OneNote clients.

So, OneNote can export the full page to Word, but cannot display the whole page. I've attempted to duplicate the page without success. I've attempted to paste the Word export into a new page and it still truncates the pasted text.

I've tried to list it by urgency roughly, if we can move away from integrated/vertical system of using onedrive

Then people can ask for relevant feature as needed/I'll see how onenote 2021 is...

Why is there not a public feature request wiki for issues with onenote? Where anyone can vote on missing features

That way we can comment and see what's going to be added or not? Or then pay for certain features to be added?

This isn't an open source program, I can't go out and try to fix the issues I can see...
Can users write tickets to fix? Would microsoft make this program partly open source?

I need onenote app to be sync locally phone to computer, or to a secure cloud environment then I can use it

I am trying to use SPMT to upload over 1,000 files and related metadata to my client's SharePoint account. I have all necessary access to the account and my client's internal IT department has been trying to help, but no luck. I keep getting errors with the CSV; I followed the instructions under "How to use SharePoint Migration Tool" but still having issues. The sample file on the website isn't much help to me (I'm not an IT person). Can anyone help explain it to me in layman's terms?

I've attached the the first few lines of the CSV file for reference (row 1 is just for reference, I did remove that before I tried the upload. Thank you.

A couple of things come to mind:

Is Edge set as the default browser in both profiles/computers?

A long shot, but in order for Edge/IE11 mode to work with Outlook (the program) View-in-Browser. you have to make Edge the default handler for both .mht and .mhtml file types. Perhaps there are other file types in play on your two computers?

Future of OneNote - Version Recommendation, Version History

Our company has all users licensed for Windows and Office365 E3. Some users have OneNote App, and some have OneNote for Windows 10, and some have both. It's my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) that the OneNote app comes with purchased of Office and OneNote for Windows 10 comes free with Windows.

When we open OneNote notebooks from Sharepoint and open them in the browser, the online version looks most like OneNote for Windows 10. Is there any hope of converging all of these options into one supported product? Which version will MS support in the future?

Recently we had an issue with a group using OneNote for Windows 10, and a section from the Notebook seemed to just disappear and has continued to be missing for weeks now. I looked within sharepoint by right mousing on the notebook and there's no version history available to restore as there is with Word/Excel files. I primarily use the OneNote App, and there I have a history tab with a recycle bin and can list recent edits and can look at page history. But in the OneNote for Windows 10 I see no such options.

So with OneNote for Windows 10, is there any way to retrieve previously deleted sections or pages? Generally we are conflicted with what version of OneNote to use but would like to standardize.

What have other companies done?

before you head out to Best Buy a word of caution. I purchased my new Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 more or less to use OneNote on a bigger screen. OneNote on my tiny Galaxy S8 screen is a bit of a bother. Imagine my disappointment, after dropping a wad of cash for my new tablet, when I discovered that the OneNote interface on the tablet really sucks. and the OneNote functionality on the tablet is not as great as on my tiny Galaxy S8 screen. So now i have this way too expensive, new gadget (the tablet) and more often than not I still pick up my old Galaxy S8 to read my OneNote pages. The main problem with OneNote on the tablet is that the section names and page names cannot be read. the notebook names, section names and page names are all bunched onto one screen. there are other issues with OneNote on the tablet (android 11) . for now the issue with having to close OneNote on my S8, from sticky notes, is a small issue, compared to struggling to use the app on my tablet. all in all. android 11 is not the answer for OneNote. sadly. i cant tell you how gutted i am at not being able to use OneNote on either device without issues :( I have resorted to dragging my pc out onto the dining room table to use OneNote more easily. i am bummed out :(

Thanks for the clarifications. You really fire hosed the team with many issues.

From my personal experience with Microsoft, it is best to make requests and suggestions, one at a time. That way a meaningful dialog can be created which can lead to actual solutions. I would expect that we will need to see what the first version of this combined OneNote looks like before making any further demands or suggestions.

Hi Andy_Grayson, thanks for the info. MyTechieRyan also wrote in his message that he is using a Galaxy S8 with Android 9 and now using Hawaii_Mark's Sticky Note solution. So with you and me and the two Ryans that makes at least 4 of us with Galaxy S8, Android 9, with this OneNote bug. Lucky us , lol

I love your sticky note reminder to yourself about closing the OneNote app from the sticky notes screen. Lol :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:
Just so you know. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (SM-P615) tablet, with Android 11, One UI 3.1. OneNote opens and closes, from any screen (notebooks and sticky notes) without any problems at all. OneNote on my PC also works fine.
I also have a Samsung phone, similar to yours, which has the OneNote problem. My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F) with Android 9, One UI Version 1.0. I am also from Ontario but live in Europe.
It would be interesting to know if the other people who are having the same OneNote issue are also having the problem on a phone with Android 9.
Or maybe it's just Canadians with Samsung phones with Android 9 who are struggling with OneNote - all of a sudden. lol

Fortunately, it is pretty specifically mentioned that this is not a new app, rather the continuance of and the reinvestment in the existing desktop app. So that's good news for you and others who will be wondering, because that app does, and will continue to support offline notebooks. I'll never say never, but at this point, it would be like Word deciding to stop supporting local files.

Agreed, one universal app/desktop/ios/andriod should make things better. My point is there are lots of small changes that need to happen, mainly encryption, other cloud providers, export to open format/backups, free reader of onenote files (people without a paid copy) for my major ones
I just need a good note making system, as my post was lost?? I don't hold out hope that buying onenote 2021 will help me...

At present you can't use other cloud accounts, onedrive isn't encrypted but others are encrypted, if you need to keep the syncing using “cloud” storage
At present Local sync is only for 1 device

Office 2021, Can you use laptop hubs and or usb to usb, networks to share files over an existing network, sync to NAS, offline sync between mobiles and local computers?
I'm trying to see if you sync/silo notebooks to local to devices, share over workspace network/shared server and if you want publish to 'web' cloud...
One of the complaint with the onenote app was the lack of local storage for people like lawyers where they needed the privacy/not using onedrive...

The ability to take the content of a whiteboard session and have it convert to a Visio diagram would be amazing. Exchange Online hardening TLS and reporting

However there is no trivial way of seeing exactly which domains, recipients or senders have sent these mails. Would be usefull to add such reporting too in the GUI to quickly have an overview of this without having to extract the entire message trace and look for obscure headers.

This issue started for me about 10 days ago (7/9/2021). I tried clearing cache, restarting the app, restarting the device, etc. though that only resolved the issue for one use of OneNote, at which point the process needed to be repeated.
I uninstalled and reinstalled OneNote, same problem.
As I use OneNote extensively for work and personal - when I am away from my laptop, I access it on my mobile dozens of times an hour.
I couldn't be restarting my phone every time I needed to access OneNote.
So I resorted to a factory reset of my Galaxy S8, running Android v9.
Sadly, the issue has persisted, as described here by everyone else.
Hawaii_Mark's suggestion of switching to the 'sticky notes' tab before closing does work and is a useful workaround. Thanks Mark.
Hoping Microsoft fixes it soon though... as I don't always remember to switch (and shouldn't have to).

Extend Invite API to enable setting of blocksDownload

I need to create a console app that shares folders in sharepoint to external guests, however,

one of my requirements is that the files and folders that get shared should not get downloaded - only viewed - therefore when creating a link with the graph api I can set blocksDownload.

But later down the line I can't invite users with this link - would be great to extend the API so that at least the blocksDownload flag can be passed.

By the way - first I was thinking that the issue is only part of the msgraph.net sdk (therefore my issue over there: https://github.com/microsoftgraph/msgraph-sdk-dotnet/issues/1134)

Hi, has the school assigned her a email address / user account with a license for office?
If so, from her computer, load an 'incognito' or 'inprivate' browser window. Log in to https://portal.office.com with the email address provided by the school. There will be an 'Install Office' button in the top-right corner. Download and install office (dont worry about removing what is there already it will sort itself out). When she opens an Office app like Word after install, it may ask her to enter credentials again to activate office. She can put in the same email and password given by the school. If it prompts to say 'let the company manage you device', look to the bottom left of that box and click 'this app only' (this is her personal machine so she doesn't want to register it to the schools directory it can cause problems). Hope it helps.

Also, did you know you can remote control her computer using Quick Assist built into Windows 10?

Hi, not with that setting... you need to add the domain. But you could allow all domains and change the setting above so that only certain trusted users can invite people, then as an Admin invite that one gmail user as a guest.

Or, you could allow sharing with gmail.com domain, then create an 'Allowed Guest Users' group. Then use a Conditional Access policy:

- apply it to Guest and External Users (not the group), then under Exclude add the 'Allowed Guest Users' group.

- set action to Block

This should prevent any Guest user signing in if they have not been added to the group.

Or, you could create a Dynamic Group with rule:

(user.mail -contains "gmail")

Then set up conditional access to block that group, excluding the 'Allowed group' with the one user in it.

This should block all gmail users while allowing gmail users you add to the allowed group.

Requires testing but you should be able to achieve the goal.

Hello, my boss posted his .onetoc2 (Table of Contents) to one of our shared drives recently. I clicked on this small file that's only 7 KB in size. After doing that Onenote started to import a TON of data into my existing onenote and after about 5 hours it was still importing data due to the large amount of information he had in it. I cancelled the import because it was making a mess of my existing Onenote. After cancelling it it left a "misplaced sections" at the bottom of onenote and when I was searching my Onenote for key words it would take a lot longer due to all the data from his Onenote. Today I went in and deleted each section by following this. After I removed all the misplaced sections my search results using "CTRL E" is much faster! For some reason I had to manually deleted all the .one files it left behind in AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneNote\16.0\Backup\Misplaced Sections.

So, I wanted to see if I can create a new/separate onenote using his .onetoc2 that will be completely separate from mine so don't have overlapping search results from his notebooks and mine.

Also, I'm using the Thick Client application for my onenote. I would also like to know if I can somehow remove this section that shows up in my Sync. "EMV Training Materials".

I'll probably have to try his import on a slow day since it will take a long time to import all that data.

In Microsoft 365 -> Azure -> External collaboration settings, for the Collaboration Restrictions setting I have it set to "Allow invitations only to the specified domains (most restrictive)".

I now need to add a specific gmail user, (let's say testuser@gmail.com), as a guest to the organization, but in order to do this I need to add "gmail.com" as a whitelisted domain. If I do this, it kind of defeats the purpose of using an allow list since there are millions of gmail.com accounts that exist.

I am wondering if there is a way to specify gmail.com in the allow list, and then create another restriction for all gmail.com emails where the email must be in a list that I specify? So basically I would have a policy that says for all gmail.com users, only allow testuser@gmail.com, otherwise block.

Is this possible via conditional access or other means?

Yes no luck here except I did notice that the problem does not occur on the ALL ITEMS view, so I created a new view by copying ALL ITEMS and called it Admin View New and that enables the user to enter data using the grid view and it saves the data correctly.

I have tried the below steps and still having the issue:

disable and enable quick view in library settings
Remove all the mandatory fields
Making sure the view is on default view

This exact same error has just appeared for our site today. I have tried it with a number of lists and it still fails. I have added an additional field and tried to edit other fields that are not person fields and it still will not let me enter data into the field in grid view. It works perfectly fine editing one record at a time.

See below. As soon as I enter data into the Office only column the red exclamation mark appears at the beginning of the row.

Have you found a solution?

Can anyone suggest a solution please?

Thanks Hawaii_Mark for discovering the wacky hack work around with the sticky note exit, and Kathleen686 for articulating all of the Microsoft recommended fixes that do not work. FYI, I'm running Android 9 on a Samsung S8 Active (SM-G892U) - Samsung One UI version 1.1. This is a very annoying bug for folks like me who rely on this app for work. I've been copying and pasting from Evernote Free. Yikes. Let's just hope the software gods at Microsoft come up with a patch pronto. Cheers.

Installing OneDrive for Business on a Mac M1

I was wondering whether anyone has run into issues installing OneDrive for Business on a Mac with the M1chip.

My environment:

Hardware: MacBook Air (M1, 2020)

OS: Big Sur Version 11.6

I logged into my office.com business account; went to my online Onedrive settings and clicked on the Getthe OneDrive apps link which directed me to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/onedrive/download to download the app. (Btw, I also tried downloading the OneDrive app from the app store).

I'm running into issues during the Set Up OneDrive process: I enter my business e-mail address and then click Sign In.
At the next "This email address is used for both OneDrive and OneDrive for Business. Which would like to sign in to first?" prompt, I select Work or School and then nothing.

Has anyone else run into this issue?

Any suggestions as to how I can get OneDrive for Business to work would be greatly appreciated.

Using 365 Personal as a remote contractor

Totally new to MS 365 and trying to support someone else who is also totally new, and in another state! LOL

Lori works for us on a remote assignment with a public school in another state, she works from home. The school uses MS 365 to collaborate and she has access to the online version of MS Word, Excel, etc. through them. However, they told her it’s much more efficient if she has a downloadable copy of MS Office 365 installed on her computer.

She downloaded Microsoft 365 Personal and installed it. She wasn’t able to log into the school’s account; she said because MS 365 was under her personal email address. She tried to change the email address to her address at the school and she wasn’t able to. Thanks for any assistance!

Very short answer : never give the prod credentials to your devs :)

Short answer : if you want to secure the Graph API requests, you should follow at least :
- One service account (Managed Identity / Enterprise Application) per usage to follow the least privilege principle
- Store your secrets within an Azure Key Vault (you will find a lot of documentation on the Internet)

Does anyone know why IE11 isn't reliably redirecting non-Teams apps to Edge? On my home PC, two Windows profiles, when I navigate to portal.office.com or other apps in IE11, one profile redirects to Edge, the other profile does not. The experience seems random.

For example:

We are fairly early in our journey on the use of Power Platform and SharePoint online. Some devs in the org have done some pretty cool things with Power Platform, Graph etc, but their solutions all run under their own accounts. I'm getting more and more questions now on how we can make these run under a generic service account so that these solutions are not dependent on the dev's account remaining active. Do you guys use service accounts? One account for all solutions? A different account for each solution? How do you license these accounts? Do you give the credentials to devs or is there a way to create a token? Looking for some ideas and best practices. Thanks.

Allow SharePoint tabs in Teams to be pre-configured

When adding SharePoint tabs in Teams channels, you are not allowed to POST with the contentUrl configuration. In order to make a automated deployment, you need to first create, then PATCH this new tab. Please allow the contentUrl to be submitted with the POST request.

Hello, I am a paid user of Office365 in China. There is a bug in OneNote2016 and previous versions. It has been a long time. Maybe you also know this bug. For example, if the default font is set to Microsoft Yahei, when inputting, if it is a Chinese character, then it is Microsoft Yahei, but after switching to English, it will automatically become Calibri, and Microsoft Yahei cannot be maintained. Because these two font sizes are not the same, it will cause the page to be very inconsistent. I really hope that this problem can be solved in a new version in the future, thank you.

Hi Donna_H1966 I didnt see a note on here about whether or not you solved the problem with OneNote. Since you wrote just a few days ago I was wondering if all is ok now. Have you tried Hawaii_Mark's work around - closing the OneNote app from the Sticky Notes screen. its the only thing which worked for me. Killing the app data didnt help.

Hawaii_Mark has the answer!!! Aloha Mark :) If you are reading this then save yourself tons of time and listen to Mark. Mark suggests to click on the "Sticky Notes" screen before you close the OneNote app. He is right.

I was having the issue that OneNote was hanging on the logo screen when I tried to open the app on my Samsung Galaxy S8 Android phone. I have been having this issue for the past few days or maybe a week. Before that all was OK. BTW, page conflicts are not the issue. I dont, and never have had, any conflicts in any of my pages. I know that because I have triple checked and I do not have sync issues with any other device or using OneNote on any other device. All my notebooks and pages sync without a problem back and forth from OneDrive online, to and from my computer and to and fro from my tablet (also a Samsung, and also Android). Its just the OneNote app on my phone which started to screw up a few days ago.

If I close the app while on "Sticky Notes" (as Mark suggests) the app opens again without hanging. I could open and close the app several times, without any problem, as long as I closed it from Sticky Notes. Since the app was opening and closing without any issues I was curious to see what would happen if I tried to close the app from the Notebooks screen. Well, as Mark wrote, OneNote 'broke' again. I had to kill the app data, reload and sync my Notebooks all over again. This sucks. Does that mean I will have to ALWAYS remember to close the app, on my Samsung phone, from the Sticky Notes screen???? this cant be!! Yo, Microsoft - what have you done??

BTW, Some background info about my issues and what I tried just in case Hawaii_Mark's solution does not work for you. I followed Microsoft's recommendation several times and it did not solve the problem. This is what they said....

1. sign out of the OneNote app
2. clear the app cache
3. force the app to stop
4. uninstall the app
5. restart the phone
6. reinstall the app
7. start OneNote again and sign into OneNote with MS account again

all of the above did not work

I decided to do all of the above again but also to add step 2.2
2.2 clear the data (not just the cache)

Still no solution.

Hawaii_Mark's idea to exit on the Sticky Note screen was the only thing that worked for me. Thanks again Hawaii_Mark - you are a gem ;)

This is absolutely ridiculous that I am unable to embed a Microsoft Stream video in a PowerPoint Live presentation whereas YouTube and Vimeo work just fine. I am logged into my Microsoft 365 account 100%. When presenting the PP, I am being asked to log in to MS Stream. Clicking on the link directs me to a blank page and nothing happens unless you keep staring at the white page and get a headache.

Trying to promote MS Stream as the chosen Streaming platform amongst staff and students is not being helped by this kind of issue.

Name Resolution Policy Table (NRPT) only active on device tunnel but not user tunnel

Hi there,

We have configured NRPT on our "Always On VPN - UserTunnel" configuration profile in Intune.

Configuring it on the device tunnel is not supported as this article states: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-access/vpn/vpn-device-tunnel-config

However, when I am connected with the device tunnel only and I run the Get-DnsClientNrptPolicy Powershell cmdlet then I see the correct NRPT configuration (which we defined on the user tunnel).

Then when I connect the user tunnel VPN, the device tunnel automatically disconnects and the NRPT configuration disappears (the Get-DnsClientNrptPolicy cmdlet gives no output anymore and desired DNS behaviour doesn't work as expected anymore).

Am I missing something here or is this situation the opposite of what it is supposed to be?

Will any other applications or devices (i.e. Android or iOS mobile devices running built-in mail apps) be affected by this? Or is the impact really only targeted somehow to old Outlook versions? If so, how is that being accomplished? By UserAgent string or something similar?
