Manual Archive problem

Good Day my fellow techs,

I have this issue that I can't explain lol. but I will try!
Whenever I try to manually archive someone's emails,
I select my inbox and then select a date then select where I want

my archive to go along with a name. Then I hit ok.
The archive starts because I see it in the status bar and it says Archiving.
but then all of a sudden it goes through all the names of the folders that are below

the inbox. Then the status bar says "All folders are up to date"
So I waited about an hour to see maybe it will continue archiving without the status bar

showing anything. Well after waiting nothing happens and the archive is not working. The

storage is the same size(full).

This is frustrating, I'm hoping someone might advise and assist.
By the way, this also happens when I choose a single folder or the entire email.

E-mails sent to group not redirected to inbox (Follow in Inbox set to All Email and Events)

Dear community,

we are trying to push the adoption of Office 365 groups but this issue is just destroying the credibility of using Office 365 groups instead of distribution lists. Some users (me included) are following an Office 365 group but no emails are redirected to my inbox in Outlook. The strange thing is that it just stops working.

Is there any other setting which might prevent emails sent to groups from being delivered to inboxes?

I am pretty sure that if I unfollow the group and then follow again that the mails will start to be delivered, but I can't tell all our users to randomly start/stop following groups to ensure that they'll receive the emails.

Create a link to direct users through a new login process

I need a url that will force the user to log out then redirect them to a ms online service link where they are asked to sign in again to access the form.

Needing to validate sign ins to MSO services.

The issue is with mobile devices holding logins from apps and using those logged in Microsoft accounts to access MS forms via a QR code. If the QR code is set to retrieve details from the signed in user it will collect the wrong information as the sign out process on the phone is different to desktop workstations.

So far I've tried variations of:

We current have an actively used Shared Mailbox (call it service@company.com).

However, we now want to create a full Microsoft 365 Group called Service, and have that email address associated with it, along with the other functions of a Group (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)

How would I go about doing this? If I create the Group and name it 'Service' will M365 automatically use that Shared Mailbox and turn it into the Group mailbox?

Status Bar in new email message office 365

to this moment, when I open outlook 365 new email message on the bottom of the screen was shown status bar. In that status bar, I have seen spelling and grammar options and that was very helpful. I don't know what I do, maybe some short command hides that status bar and now I can't find how to show it again.

Can you give me the right command to see again that status bar?

Purchasing O365 directly direct with Microsoft, despite O365 email through Go daddy

I'm currently looking to move everything over to Business O365 - I currently use it for one organisation and now wish to use it for personal business.

I have Go Daddy website and purchased email through them, from Microsoft, with a couple months left on that contract. I want to go all in on business premium but noticed when I signed up for the month free trial, using the email address, then I have to use the Go daddy admin platform (which defeats the purpose as I don't want to go through them, but use Microsoft dashboard directly) - and it would not let me use the free trial elements.

What's the best way forward? Is it a case of cancelling email and signing up with O365 once that's complete? I don't want downtime on email address for the business.

Any advice?

We have started to roll out and migrate our users content to SharePoint and OneDrive and starting to notice more and more users getting the following:

"Your organization doesn't allow you to download, print or sync using this device. To use other actions, use a device that's joined to a domain or marked compliant by Intune. For help, contact your IT department."

This seems to be happening on a mix of desktop and laptops.

We have a Hybrid environment at the moment with everything being done in AD and being synced back to AAD.

So far we have tried re-joining the device to the domain, the Windows 10 Accounts Edge plug TNA.

dsrecmd is not the same for all devices with this issue also!

Can anyone offer any advice or suggestion?

Office 365 license elements

Hi,

When Microsoft introduces new license elements in Office 365 it turns them on automatically. For example, they recently introduced Universal Print. Is there a way I can stop these new elements from turning on automatically as a tenant-wide setting?

I have many groups with license assignments to them and new features being added sometimes complicates things especially if one does not keep an eye on the Message Center all the time.

I want to revert or downgrade to an earlier version of Word. In order to do that, I am told that I cannot just downgrade to an earlier version of Word. Rather, I must downgrade to earlier version of MS Office 365. How do I do that?

Right now, my CURRENT version & build of Word is Version 2104 (Build 13929.20296).

I want to revert back to a March 2021 version/build: either Version 2104 (Build 13801 . . . ) OR Version 2103 (Build 13801 . . . ), whichever is older.

Reinstalled Windows, missing some documents saved to OneDrive in Office 365

I had 7 Excel documents that I made in Office 365 and they were all set to save to OneDrive. I know they got synced as I was able to share the documents and people could open them. I was also able to see them in OneDrive.

I reinstalled Windows, which of course reinstalled OneDrive and I of course had to reinstall Office 365. For some reason, 5 of my 7 Excel documents I'm able to open, but 2 of them I get a "Sorry we couldn't find <long url>. Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?" What's even weirder is looking at the paths listed for the documents in the "Recent" section. The ones I can't open have a path of "OneDrive - Personal >> Documents". The ones I can open say "<My real name>'s OneDrive (Personal". I can't find the 2 missing ones in the recycle bin in OneDrive nor can I find them doing a search. So what's the deal? Why are most of them available, but 2 aren't and why do those 2 just say "OneDrive" instead of "<My real name>'s OneDrive"? Attached is a screen shot showing what I'm talking about. I put 2 X's by the files that can't be opened. All the rest can be.

Sharepoint 2013 Cloud Hybrid Search Crawl error

I am trying to setup a Hybrid search on the Azure server, where I have installed SharePoint 2013, August 2020 CU. The Azure AD sync is configured and synchronization works fine.
The STS certificates are added to the server's "Trusted root certificate authority).
The Hybrid search is created and configured with the scripts (CreateCloudSSA.ps1 and Onboard-CloudHybridSearch.ps1) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=51490.

The Cloud search service application throws crawl errors and none of the contents get crawled successfully.

O365 Admin Security Groups search bar missing when editing group members

There used to be a search bar, which is now missing, that allowed me to search for a specific group member. Without the search bar I am forced to scroll through hundreds of user accounts (not in alphabetical order) to find the one I'm looking for.

Hi Experts,

Our customer has a project and must choose between M365 Apps for Business or M365 Apps for Enterprise for RDS environment.

Currently it is about 300 users, potentials seats will be upto 1000 users.

Customer sees benefits in both license models (M365 Apps for Business and M365 Apps for Enterprise) and would like to use both.

They’re looking at session based computing (RDS or Citrix) and wants some users with M365 Apps for Business and some users with M365 Apps for Enterprise. During the installation of office on RDS we have to choose in the XML file (Office Deployment Tool) whether we want to install Enterprise or Business.

Questions:

When we look at Shared Computer Activation on RDS, can we use 1 installation of office (M365 Apps for Business? Or M365 Apps for Enterprise?)
Can we let the users work with 2 different licensing SKUs so that we can mix both USER license models?
Are there any other installation model can we leverage during installation (choosing XML - ODT) apart from M365 Apps for Business premium and M365 Apps for Enterprise because Business standard doesn't work with Shared computer activation?

Any guidance would be of great help!

Emailing from QuickBooks using Outlook Issue

We use Office 365 and QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 and ever since 4/16/2021 (just now noticed this was happening) When I email (which uses Outlook) an invoice or a paid invoice or a purchase order (probably other things too, but these are what I send on the daily) from QB, I click on email like normal and when my outlook (using Office 365) opens the email msg it automatically populates with the QB default message (like normal) and I go in and erase all of it and do my own personalized email message (been doing this for many many years) and send. I just happened to have to go in my sent folder in outlook to print out the attachment of a PO I'd emailed and noticed that the email message was back to the default QB msg. I went back through my sent emails and found that on 4/16/2021 is when it started doing this, all previous emails before that date were just fine with my personalized messages. My computer IT company says it sounds like a QB software issue and after reaching out to QuickBooks, they are saying to contact Microsoft. I have also gone in and did a repair to Outlook and to QuickBooks and still have the same issue. So here I am.... reaching out. Anyone else having this problem and how do I get it fixed?? It's driving me crazy!!

Email Settings after hack

Hi guys. So my Microsoft exchange business email acc got hacked a few weeks ago. I was able to retrieve it and re-secure everything (scanned for malware and changed pw’s etc). BUT the hackers activated a setting where certain email contacts of mine (clients) are blocked from my main inbox; emails that they send me do not show up in my normal inbox. I have to search the clients email address and then I can find emails they recently sent me. Does anyone know how to fix this. Thanks!

365 Project issues

I have a client that uses 365 for Office, Mail, Project and multiple users.

We had to reload a windows system with win 10 and all went well, reloaded Office with no issues and Project would not load. Tested the user profile and on other systems and it would not load either. So not hardware or Windows setup. Other profiles of same company reload Project no issue so proved it to be a 365 cloud profile issue.

Called 365 support. have now tested with 5 techs. always trying to prove it is my hardware or setup. wasted many hours with these guys . Have to get grumpy to get a manager assigned who states I will give daily updates. That was a week ago and no updates. This user has not had Project now since April 9th. ZERO support and no where to turn too .

Does anyone have any suggestions of who to ask for escalation as I am getting no where . We have been down for almost a month and support does not care. No support or customer care line at Microsoft to call and calling the help desk just starts it all over again and get no where..

I hope Microsoft management reads this and I will be pleased to hear from them as their product support really stinks when there is a real problem in their network..

I know I'm able to export the data on excel but we have a high turnover of participants who must achieve 100% in order to be provided login details for a secure record system and it would be advantageous to be notified of this in real time.

Hi everyone. I use Microsoft 365 Business Basic (online apps only - exchange) in the our company. I want to subscribe to the desktop apps (excel, word and PP). I'm found on the site two options:

1. "Microsoft 365 Apps For Business" (excel, word and pp Premium)

2. "Microsoft 365 Personal" (excel, word and pp Premium)

Can I use Microsoft 365 Personal to open Excel/Word documents that are inside my Onedrive for Business and save them automatically?

For example:

My file is on the Onedrive > I open Excel spreadsheet on the MS365 Personal and save automaticly > Is possible??

Whats the difference in between MS365 Personal and MS365 Apps for Business, when I already sign MS365 Business Basic??

Availability of on premise distribution groups during on premise outage

I run a hybrid exchange environment with Exchange 2016 and Exchange Online. I have a maintenance event coming up with my on-premise exchange server where it will be offline for a few days. I have 2 questions:

1. My on-premise exchange 2016 server still currently houses all my distribution groups that are internally and externally available. All of the user mailboxes are in Exchange Online. If I shutdown the Exchange 2016 on premise server, will the distribution groups still work if my hybrid setup is configured properly?
2. If I flip my mail routing to flow through Exchange Online first, will exchange online deliver messages with a destination for the on-premise exchange server?

We installed the OneNote Class Notebook LTI in Canvas. We recently discovered that after several weeks if a student hadn't accessed the notebook, the teacher had to add them manually.

Is there a window of time of when a student has to access the notebook in their Canvas course?

I searched but couldn't find anything about this.

Max number of bulk user attributes change per script

Hi, I want to ask. If I want to bulk change user attributes with powershell azureAD by importing a Csv file, what is the max number of user attributes that can be changed with a single script from a single csv file?
Is there a limit to the max users in a single csv file that can be processed?

Here is what I am planning to do:

1. First script.

Import-CSV "C:\UserAttributes.csv" | Foreach { Set-AzureADUser -ObjectID $_.UserPrincipalName -Department $_.Department -JobTitle $_.Title -Surname $_.LastName -GivenName $_.FirstName -DisplayName $_.DisplayName }

With this script I want to change the users' department, job title, firstname, lastname and displayname.

2. Second script

The 3 scripts above are tested and run perfectly with 10 test users that I created.

So, back to my question. Is there any limit to the max number of users in one csv file that can be processed with every single script above?

Just to let you know, there are 620s users in my department and around 7000 users in the whole organisation. If I can do it at once with a single csv file that will be very convenient.

When selecting the license I get an error, but, when assigning licenses one by one, allows me to assign all except Azure AD Premium Plan 2.

Outlook 365 Out tray not syncronizing

I work on different computers at home and at work, but one the same Office 365 account. Often I would like to avoid sending email during the weekend, and the delay function works perfectly for that.

However, what I would like is to write the email at home in the weekend, delay delivery and then turn off the computer. Then when I get to work Monday morning I would like Outlook to send it when I open outlook at the office. This won't work because the out tray doesn't syncronize. I know I can save the emails as a draft, and then send them manually, but that I want to avoid.

Any suggestions?

Self-service MFA changes not possible for users

Spent a fairly long time investigating this ourselves and with MS support regarding what is clearly a bug regarding MFA, however fobbed off yesterday with a "By Design" response!

In a nutshell - tenancy has MFA enforced for all users when off-site via conditional access. Works very well indeed UNTIL a user has a problem such as losing or damaging their MFA device. This shouldn't really matter as in the eyes of any layman, once on site they should be able to log on and change their MFA details as they can log on otherwise without issue. However, clicking through to their security info to do this forces them to authenticate, even on site. The only possible way for them to have their details changed is to ask an admin to reset it for them.

It's 2021, we live in a self-service world yet this is deemed "by design". I can't be alone surely?

XIRR Function

I have two questions concerning the XIRR formula:

1) In our company for calculating the IRR we often use the European version with act/360 instead of the act/365 that is used in the XIRR. Is there any chance, that the formula XIRR could be extended so that you could choose the exponent you need (similar to e.g. the COUPDAYS funtion, wehre you can choose the day count basis) or if there is the possibility for a new function XIRR360.

2) I have tried to calculate the IRR with the net present value formula stated in the XIRR support page. However, when I than search for the IRR with the excel solver, the IRR is slightly different from the one, that XIRR gives me. This can't be due to the iterative technique, because even when I give my expected IRR as an "Guess" to the XIRR formula, it still gives me a different IRR. How is this possible?

I know i can use the below to get all users

Viewing Office 365 documents using a personally licensed App

I have a user with an Office 365 Business Basic license trying to view documents with a personally licensed office account. As they are only able to view/edit them either in Browser or in Teams, they tried accessing it with their own desktop app but it triggers a login window which immediately freezes.

Is this how it's supposed to work? Is the only way for them to work on those documents is assign them an Office 365 Business Standard license?

Shared Calendars Exchange & IMAP

Upfront let me say that I do not have any technical/IT background. Just an average guy trying to figure some stuff out. Please excuse me if I incorrectly state some terms below.

I'm co-founder of a small company (Company A). It's still in it's 1st month of operation. My business partner is part time involved in A and part time involved in another company (Company B). I need to be able to see/modify both of his calendars (in 1 place) and he needs to be able to see/modify mine.

Company A's domain is registered with Zoho and email domain is IMAP. Company B is using Exchange.

Company A has just signed up for Office 365, but with IMAP email and Company B was already using Office 365 Exchange.

I'm just learning that IMAP does not allow calendar sharing. There's no option to change anything in Company B because it's already established with employees etc, so whatever changes need to be made, it has to be in Company A.

Can anyone help me with this conundrum? I appreciate any help.

कुछ समझ नही आ रहा था की मैं क्या करूँ। मैं स्टेशन के पास जा के बैठ गया, तभी कुछ ऐसा हुआ कि मेरी जिन्दगी एक अलग मोड़ लेने वाली थी।

स्टेशन की तरफ मैं देख रहा था की मेरा दोस्त आया की नहीं तभी अचानक से मेरी नज़र एक लड़की पर पड़ी।

वो जो वक़्त था मैं पूरी तरह कुछ देर के लिए थम सा गया था। मैं सब भूल गया था की मैं कहा हूँ क्यों हूँ ?

बस मेरी आँखे उस लड़की की तरफ से हट ही नहीं रही थी और इस तरह से मैं उसे देखता ही जा रहा था ।

उसकी मासूम चेहरा, उसकी छोटी-छोटी आंखी, उसके मासूम सा चेहरे पे वो मासूम सी उसकी हंसी जैसे मानो कोई परी हो वो..उसे देख पहली नज़र मे मानो दिल को कुछ होने लगा था।

क्या वो प्यार था??

मुझे नहीं पता बस दिल बोल रहा था कि मेरा दोस्त कुछ देर बाद आये या ये वक़्त रुक जाए।

मुझे उसका नाम जानना था। उसके बारे में बहुत कुछ पता करने को दिल कर रहा था लेकिन कैसे करूँ ये समझ ही नहीं आ रहा था।

जब कुछ समझ नहीं आया तब मैंने बस भगवान से प्रार्थना किया की मुझे ये लड़की मेरी जिन्दगी में चाहिए।

वो जा रही थी। मेरी आँखों से दूर मुझे रोकना था उसे। उससे बातें करना था। उससे दोस्ती करनी थी और उसे अपने दिल की बात बतानी थी।

लेकिन कैसे ???

यही सवाल बस बार-बार मेरे मन में आ रहा था और मुझे बैचैन किये जा रहा था।

मैंने फिर सोच लिया कि मेरी आँखों से दूर होने से पहले मुझे इसका नाम पता चल जाये तो मैं इससे अपना बनूँगा और शायद भगवान् ने ही उसे भेजा होगा मेरे लिए ये मैं समझूंगा तभी भगवन ने चमत्कार कर दिया..पीछे से आवाज आया प्रिया मैं यहां हूँ।

फिर वो पीछे देखि तो मैंने देखा वहां से एक लड़की आवाज दी और वो उस क पास चली गयी..तभी मैं समझा उस लड़की का नाम प्रिया था।

मैं खुश हो गया और उस लड़की को मन किया जा के धन्यवाद बोल दू क्योंकि उसी के वजह से मुझे उस का नाम पता चला।

बस तभी मैंने ठान ली अब उसे अपना बनाना है, उसे अपनी जिन्दगी में लाना है।

फिर तभी मै उसके पिछे जाने लगा कि अचानक ही पीछे से एक हाथ आया।

पीछे देखा तो दोस्त आ गया था। अब मैं क्या करूँ समझ नहीं आ रहा था..मैं क्या बोलूँ उससे..कैसे मना करूँ उससे?..कैसे जाऊ मैं उस के पीछे ?

मैं इसी सोच में लगा रहा रहा तब तक वो मेरी आँखों से दूर जा चुकी थी दिल मानो रोने लगा था और तभी मानो ऐसा लगा कि जैसे सब कुछ एक सपना सा था बस और आँखे खुल गया तो सपना टूट गया।

Unable to access Shared mailbox using Microsoft grpah api SDK

Hi,

I have worked on Microsoft graph Api SDK for accessing shared mailbox using client credentials. The code which i have written was working fine for past one and half year in production. I have given all the delegated permissions in app which I have created in Azure AD. I have also made the mailboxes has shared in exchange admin center. I have also tried by giving permission to mailbox folder using outlook desktop application.

Though I am not able to access my shared mailbox with the code I have written. Kindly help me to solve this problem. Is there any update in the headers that I have to proceed with or is there any other permission i have to provide in azure active directory or is there any update in the sdk which i need to use.

Kindly help me to solve the situation.

Office 365 SMTP open relay / office machines send encrypted email

We are Office 365 Enterprise customers. I have setup an open relay SMTP connector through our 365 Exchange Online service, for use by our internal office machines to be able to scan-to-email documents to both internal and external entities. I also setup a compliance policy that automatically encrypts outbound emails containing credit card information. Our industry is a bit ancient in that many of our customers and vendors still rely on sharing credit card information via email message bodies or PDF attachments. The compliance policy works excellent for this, it does not require our employees to specifically select email encryption. However I have noticed that the open relay connector does not integrate with this compliance policy. Am I missing something or is there no way to automatically encrypt these scant-to-emails? Even if I have our employees scan-to-email them to their own mailboxes so that they can then forward the emails/attachments to the external recipient using manual encryption the emails still travel through 365 unencrypted. This is not only unacceptable from an enterprise standpoint, it is a violation of PCI-DSS requirements.

What are other options for 365 customers to ensure these emails are encrypted?

New Domains in already existing O365 Instance and adding new instance in already existing Azure AD

Our Company is going to split from existing company into two. We are having already existing O365 Tenant and we are planning to add extra domain in the same existing O365 Tenant.

Also we are planning to maintain the same single instance in Azure AD and create two instances (Two different UPNs) for two different companies.

Note: We need to consider both companies as two different entities

Trial domain has expired/renew

Unable to publish my game

Hello everyone, I have made a game using python and converted it into an EXE file. My program requires an addition folder named as Assets and so make my program work I always have to keep my EXE file and the Assets folder in the same folder. Now I wanted to publish my game to Microsoft Store and even completed all the necessary steps required like- payment, etc. But when it comes to upload my game to finish with publishing then I face a problem that I can only upload my game which is in msix,msixupload,xap etc, but my game is contained in a folder and if I convert my game into a msix format then the required folder(Assets) would be missing and my game wouldn't work. So I either have to convert the folder main folder in to a msix format or any other supported my microsoft or find our any other way. Your help will be appreciated.

Which sounds to good to be true based on the equivalent searches of on-prem Exchange Server releases. Is this your experience, that the searches are super quick to complete and return results?

Hi - can anyone help - i'm trying to change the outgoing name when sending emails - normally I can find the options quite easily - but this seems to have beaten me for the moment!!! When I look online just keeps saying:

Change the Email Sender Name in Outlook

Go to File and select Info.
Select Account Settings > Account Settings.
In the Account Settings dialog box, choose the email account you want to edit and select Change.
In the Your name text box, enter the name you want to appear in the From line of your emails. ...
Select Next.

Where do I find this - am I being stupid (probably!!)

I access my emails online only - so do not download to my MAC.

Litigation Hold - for future mailboxes

Hello to all,

Does anyone know, if there is any way, how to set up Litigation by default for all future mailboxes ? Including the hold duration ?

The idea is, that every new account (mailbox) will have automatically turned on Litigation hold with specific hold duration, if that account will have license for it, of course.

Multiple Signature in one user Office 365

Note : license Office 365 would be E1 and Bussiness Basic.

all user using different PC, i have to setup signature using different user in each PC.

Office OWA Searching

I have an end user whos
Susan uses OWA. She does not use Outlook on the Remote Desktop Server.

For some reason searches in OWA on her Public Folder Favorites do not work. Searching on her Inbox / Sent Items work.

Other users in her workplace use OWA, and can search within Public folders.

I have tested on other mailboxes using OWA and searching Public Folder Favorites does work.

I have got her to remove / read the Public Folders to Favorites but still no go.

How to exclude VDI from 2FA

I have a VDI solution on my premise, currently 2FA has been implemented, but looking for a way to exclude the 2FA for any connection that originated from my VDI env.

I cannot depend on the Internet IP as the VDI internet IP is not static.

My VDI is non-persiste pool

I have a group set up to accept email from external senders, and to forward the email to group members. However, the email is coming in, then being directed to the junk folder of the administration account, and not going to the inbox of the that account or the testuser account (both legitimate mailboxes.) What the heck is happening?

Microsoft Authenticator UserVoice or Suggestion/Feedback ??

Where does one go to submit a feature request for Microsoft Authenticator?

At this point I have > 50 entries in the Authenticator and scrolling through the list to find something is painful and slow.

What is sorely missing is a keyword search function to locate any MFA listing within your app. After you authenticate with your Face, Finger, or whatever...at the top of the window there should be a search field and this field should be a "CONTAINS" search.

Hopefully someone that can take this back to the team at Microsoft is reading!

Shared Office 365 calendars not showing in Outlook

I have a couple users that got a new PC. The shared calendar did not show in their outlook. I removed their permissions and then the calendar on the web outlook and then sent them a new invite. It shows on their web but not in their outlook. I had cache enabled but not downloading shared folders. The only way to get it to show is disabling cache and that really isn't ideal for some of my users.

Contact group showing in Address Book but not in People/Contacts

I created a new contact group and it was showing up in both the Address Book and the People tab. For some reason, the group is no longer showing up in the People tab under My Contacts. I have researched and everything I have found talks about how to get your group to show in the Address Book. But my problem is just the opposite, it shows in the Address Book but not under People. Does anyone know why? TIA

Licensed user with no email inbox

Dear Forum,

Yesterday i was checking some users in our tenant that have a few licenses properties assigned to their name. Out all of the options the most important one would be(for us in this case) Microsoft 365 Business Basic, which in our case would grant us email capabilities. Some users have additional features assigned to them such as Power Bi, Microsoft Power Automate Free and Dynamics 365 Customer Voice Trail. But seeing that a few of these users don't use the additional features i have removed, Dynamics and power Automate and left Microsoft 365 Business basic and Power BI.

After doing so the users were unable to get emails, and checking within admin center i have noticed that these users did not have a mailbox assigned to their names any longer.

What i could have concluded from a few forum posts, the easiest solution was to remove all the licenses, wait 15 minutes and reactivate the license for the users again.

We have a hybrid environment where our AD is being synced using ADsync and our mailexchange is on-premise. we migrated 90% of all users to O365 and the designated users none of them are created on the on-premise exchange.

This worked but my question is why is this happening and what could be the reason this is happening?

And if i remove a user's mailbox how long before microsoft actually removes the mailbox from my tenant?

internet shortcuts in onedrive

I have some project folders in onedrive, and I use ms todo for day-to-day actions as these sync with my outlook tasks. I have shared the todo folders and created an internet shortcut to them saved as a shortcut file in my project onedrive folder.

It works fine on my local synchronised copy of onedrive folders, but the people that NEED the link are those who just view the project folder online - without their own synchronised copy.

The issue is that an internet shortcut is saved as a "url" file type in my online folders - which users are unable to follow. Clicking on it only allows them to "save as" rather than following the link.

How to store all users outlook emails into a SharePoint List?

I want to create a list that will show the email logs of organization user's email. Whenever someone receives an email an item will get created automatically. Similarly, when someone sends an email It will get logged in SharePoint List.

I tried using Power Automate but it has only email arrive trigger and only works for only user who created the flow.

Is there any way to find all logs of outlook email including attachment for my organization?

Shared Mailbox Recovery

I have engaged our reseller via support ticket, but they haven't been overly useful. I cannot find the ability to enter a ticket directly to Microsoft via either my Office 365 admin portal or the Partner Center.

About a week ago, Microsoft lost a bunch of our Shared Mailboxes. I’m trying to figure out how to get them back, but it’s a long, undocumented road.

I found the real -> shared mailboxes with `Get-Mailbox -SoftDeletedMailbox`, but not the boxes that were originally created as shared.

I was able to restore the ones I did find via `Undo-SoftDeletedMailbox allieb@contoso.com` but that doesn't work for the other boxes. It also doesn't seem to actually produce a usable mailbox.

They do not appear in active or deleted mailboxes.

Not all shared mailboxes disappeared, just some of them.

For one of the mailboxes, a message trace shows mail coming in until some time on the 12th. The admin audit log shows no activity on the 12th.

I have a bit of code that uses the PowerShell Get-OrganizationConfig cmdlet to see if a new tenant is dehydrated (non-configurable in some respects).

I have a new tenant (global deployment) where the IsDehydrated property is true and the IsUpdatingServicePlan property has been true for over 24 hours. During the same period the IsUpgradingOrganization property has been false. The documentation on those properties is sparse, but my notes indicate that at least at some point in the past either one of the updating/ugrading properties would prevent the tenant from being rehydrated (made configurable) with the Enable-OrganizationCustomization cmdlet.

Can anyone provide more information about those properties, their purpose, and whether they really do prevent tenant/organization rehydration?

My signature stopped working in OWA

I'm using Outlook web through the latest version of Edge and my signature stopped showing in new/reply as of the 21/04. It only comes back if I open the "settings" area click on "compose and reply" and close the window. But if I navigate away from emails, say the calendar and come back it goes again.

Its been working fine for years and its starting to affect other users in our 365 tenancy today.

Any ideas?

Creating org chart in Visio only pulls selected person and not subordinates.

When I go through the process in Visio 2019 to create an Org chart that pulls data from Exchange 365, which has everyone's department and managers, all it pulls is the person that was selected, but none of their subordinates. I have seen mention of this going for a couple years, and wondering if anyone has found a fix. My system has Outlook setup on it, so it is accessing the GAL. Tried with offline and online versions.

In the VDI environment is Office 2016 Professional Plus installed

We are migrating our On-Prem Exchange Server to Exchange Online. We are right now in an Exchange Hybrid state. We have now migrated some user from On-Prem to Exchange Online. Now every time a migrated user logs into our Non-persistent Desktop and starts Outlook needs to login with the Microsoft 365 Account. Is there a possibility to have an SSO?

Right now there is no autodiscover entry for M365.

Hello after looking through the MS documentation regarding the override option for DLP all I was able to find is that a user is presented with a freeform textbox. Textboxes are good in theory but once a user knows they can just add the letter "a" in the textbox it pretty much doesn't provide any value. And also doesn't help for investigations or reporting because it creates more overhead to filter through this data.

I would like to see is the ability for the DLP admin to set up 2-3 key meaningful custom values within the rule in a drop-down form for the customer to choose when presented with an override.

advanced hunting and KQL

I hope you are well. I have a quick question which I'd like to understand if you could help me:

Basically I've been working with Advanced Hunting to try to get some customized data, reports and so on in terms of for instance impersonation, url protection, etc... Reason to do this is because we would like to have some views, reports, tables customized whatever way we prefer...

That said I got stuck here in something: lets say URL threats protection, I can play with the data of the EmailEvents table, however if I want to distinguish which type of users are having some behaviours I cannot do anything as that information is not in any of the available advanced hunting tables, but it is in the O365 URL predefined reports - basically would distinguish if user is a Protected User or not - that is defined on the Phishing Policy...

so this was just an example but main question is are we limited on Advanced Hunting to those tables, or is there anywhere where we can grab for instance that field I am missing in this example using Adv Hunting and Kusto QL

Azure AD app registration requires an identifier url to be unique, meaning only one API can currently work at a time using https://api.domain.com. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/handlingauthentication#azure-active-directory-authentic... describes a Resource value that can be passed, but I assume that this doesnt apply to the built-in web connector as I have tried without success.

I have confirmed ports are opened on the firewall, in fact, I can see the connection coming in through port 443.

I've also confirmed that the MRSPROXY is enabled, with Basic, NTLM, WindowsIntegrated and WSSecurity authentication set to true.

I can access https://remote.xxxxx.com/EWS/mrsproxy.svc' from outside and get the prompt to enter the credentials, which work.

I tried resetting IIS.

I also found that the computer object had the adminCount attribute set to 1, and that was part of the Cert Publishers security group. I removed the object from that group, set the adminCount atribute set to 0, then restarted and the attribute was set back to 1 automatically.

Any ideas?

Group Creation Behavior

Hey Team,

Quick question for you. When I use the portal or (new-distributiongroup) to create a new group, I am finding that the group as "Allow external senders" enabled be default. I can confirm that the option for "Allow people outside my org to send to this group is not selected" at creation time.

This occurs when using the admin center or the cmdlet. I swear that it worked differently last week. Any ideas on the behavior?

M365 Groups: Unable to set "ReportToOriginatorEnabled" or "ReportToManagerEnabled"

For the "Set-UnifiedGroup" cmdlet, there aren't parameters to set either "ReportToOriginatorEnabled" or "ReportToManagerEnabled".

We have a very large group which primarily consists of external guest users. We'd like to avoid seeing NDRs sent to the other members when they email the group and some of the other members' email addresses turn up as no longer valid. We'd like to keep things clean for everyone and evaluate the NDRs administratively.
