Windows Search not Work in Microsoft Windows [10.0.26120.3964]
After the latest Windows Insiders update to Windows 11 Pro (10.0.26120.3964) the Windows Search Service stopped. And even after resetting it and creating a new index in a new location different from the original, the feature stops indexing all files correctly. Therefore, the search finds some files, but not others.

I have similar problem. After update 10.0.26120.3964 my Windows Search is broken.

Yesterday, update 26120.4250 was released, which fixes the non-working Windows search.

Not necessarily. It’s a frustrating bug, but usually fixable. Since you already tried resetting and creating new indexes, I’d recommend waiting for the next insider update or patch from Microsoft, especially if this is a known bug in your build.

Your problem appears related to the Windows Search service not indexing properly after the latest update. The steps above—rebuilding the index, resetting the service, verifying settings, and checking logs—are the best approaches.

If the problem persists, you might consider rolling back to a stable build or doing a repair install, especially if the update caused systemic issues.

Support has already advised me to do this, but have you ever stopped to think that everything would go back to this, back to the build, fresh start, creating a new administrator user, etc.? In other words, we haven't received a direct response from Microsoft, which means there's no point in implementing new features if the basics don't work. I understand that the Insiders Program has this objective, but honestly, I'm not selling much of an advantage. Before changing anything in the build, it would be cool to exhaust all user complaints, only then will we have a better OS.
