Desktop Window Manager High CPU and Delayed Window Movement

Hi there,
I'm quite curious about this, every time I move a window, drag and drop, or scrolling. The Desktop Window Manager (DWM) seem to be taxing the CPU quite a lot, not to mention making the window movement delayed or stuttering. I know that this is a dev build and I am using unsupported CPU, but this problem also happened in Windows 10.

What I've tried so far (both Win10 and Win11):
- Disabling transparency effects, this help with the delay/slow motion but DWM still taxing CPU (about ~10% lower).
- Lowering mouse Polling Rate seem to help a little bit.
- Using GPU driver from the OEM didn't help.
- Upgrading GPU driver to the newest (from Intel) didn't help either.
- Problem also happened in Safe Mode with Networking.
- TBH it's also happened in Clean Installed Windows with nothing installed.

Do you guys have any ideas of what might be causing it or perhaps a way to locate the problem? or does the hardware already at its limit?

Thanks in advance!

Given your extensive troubleshooting efforts, it's possible that the hardware is reaching its limit or there's an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. Try the additional steps outlined above, and if the problem persists, consider seeking further assistance from Microsoft Support or a professional technician.

  • Since it's happening in safe mode, too I would suspect HW related error, dust / cooling issue.

Do you have free space to create a Backup with Macrium and use Windows refresh feature?

If not gone it's more likely not the OS.
