What is the best and safe YouTube to mp4 converter for Windows PC
Hi, all. I am preparing a speech recently and need to download a video clip from YouTube as the background material for the opening speech. There was no network on the day of the speech, so I had to save it in MP4 format for offline playback.
I tried several so-called "YouTube to MP4 converter" on the Internet before, some of them were incomplete, some were too low definition, not to mention a bunch of pop-up ads, almost poisoned my computer...😂
Does anyone recommend a best youtube to mp4 converter for Windows 11 PC? It would be best if it is a tool that is relatively safe, has no messy ads, is easy to operate, and supports 1080p or even higher definition video downloads. I don't mind whether it is software or web version, as long as it is stable, clean and has good results.
If you have used it and think it is good, please tell me~ It is best if you have tested it yourself. Thank you!
I’ve used AllClipDown on my Windows 11 PC — super clean, no ads, and it lets you download YouTube videos in full HD MP4 easily. Totally stable and perfect for offline use, especially for speeches like yours.

I once wanted to save a video on my Android phone temporarily, so I used YouTube's "Offline Viewing" feature. After downloading, although I can't use it directly, the video is actually cached locally and hidden in the system directory.
Use the file manager to enter the YouTube folder under Android/data/, and you can find some cache files in .exo format. Although it is not MP4, as long as it is exported and converted on the computer with a tool, it can also become a standard MP4 file, which is equivalent to converting youtube to mp4 in a roundabout way.
This method is not suitable for novices, but it does not require any additional software to be installed, and you can do it yourself. It is suitable for occasional youtube to mp4 conversions that do not want to use third-party tools.

Y2Mete is a popular web-based YouTube to MP4 converter that many users find convenient. Here are some of its main features and considerations to help you decide if it's suitable for your needs on a Windows PC:
Features of Y2Mete:
1. Multiple Format Support: This YouTube to MP4 converter allows downloads in various formats, including MP4, MP3, M4A, and more, giving users flexibility depending on their needs.
2. Resolution Options: Y2Mete supports downloads at different resolutions, including 1080p, allowing for high-quality video downloads.
3. No Installation Required: Being a web-based tool, there's no need to download or install any software, which some users find preferable.

I have encountered this situation before. I wanted to download a video for the PPT opening. I used the most primitive but super clean method - using the browser developer tool to extract the video address. The whole process does not require third-party tools, and there is no need to install messy things. It is super safe.
I use Chrome myself, and other browsers such as Edge are similar. Here is how I do it:
The steps are as follows:
- First open the YouTube video you want to download.
- Then press F12 or right-click "Inspect" to open the developer tools and switch to the "Network" tab.
- Then click the play button to start the video. It is best to fast forward it to let it load completely.
- Search for videoplayback in Network or find files such as .mp4 and .m4s. Sometimes the audio and video are separated.
- After finding it, right-click the line and select "Open in new tab". The browser will open this file separately.
The video will play directly. At this time, you can right-click "Save as" to save it as an MP4 file!
To be honest, this method is a little roundabout, but it really does not require software installation, is not afraid of virus infection, and is clean and neat. Although it is not a fool-proof one-click YouTube to mp4 converter, it is full of security.
I have used this method to solve the situation two or three times where someone sent a link but did not provide the original file of the material. It is especially suitable for preparing speeches, PPTs or teaching scenarios.
Of course, if you often need to download youtube to mp4, you can still consider finding a clean software to save trouble, but occasionally once or twice, using this developer tool is enough~
