OneDrive Does Note Work in Windows 11 Pro

Hello,

I just bought a new computer in November 2024.  Every time I attempt to log into One Drive I get an error.  I show the following information when I run a diagnostics test:

After about a week of struggling with OneDrive settings on my new mini, I have decided this has to be a Microsoft issue.  The credentials for the email address / username do not exist on the old Ryzen 3 laptop.  CoPilot features seemingly work in the new Ryzen 9 with this email address as does a million other Work and School account related features.  The OneDrive with Windows 11 Pro does not require a Microsoft Office 365 installation but for some reason the Work and School account will not let me run it with the Work and School account email address.  There is no reason I would have to change my email address to what Microsoft or Google prefers to install Windows 11 Pro, OneDrive or new versions of Edge.

  • I ran into this exact same issue on two brand new PCs. After a week of support tickets and trying different things, I gave up and just put both brand new PCs on Windows 10. OneDrive is working fine on both PCs now

However, this week I started seeing users just unable to sync anything even though it was already working just fine before.

      Steven:

Windows 10 is not an option for me.  My old HP Ryzen 3 laptop and Ryzen 9 are built on Win 11 Pro licenses and drivers.  The funny thing is that the Ryzen 3 allows me to download a 5gb OneDrive and use a new email address for login.  But the Ryzen 9 will not use my chosen email address which has worked for as long as I have owned Microsoft 365 products and my domain name which is roughly longer than 10 years since 365 came out in 2013.

However, there is some light at the end of the tunnel...., I deleted my credentials on the Ryzen 3 with that login email address and now I have some element of Microsoft 365 installed but no OneDrive that came with the Win11 Pro install on the Ryzen 9.  It is a hunch but somewhere along the line, maybe that promised 1TB OneDrive that came with my Family edition took over in Windows Live deliveries via the Microsoft Store.  I assume that in order for me to get a 5gb OneDrive, I have buy a 1 TB OneDrive on this machine.  It is not a hardware issue, unless the SD Host Controller is required and is not being seen by Win11 Pro.  However, I see it in there too.
