How can I remove the now playing menu?

In some cases, the "Now Playing" menu is linked to media applications like the Windows Media Player, Groove Music, or the Movies & TV app. Disabling or uninstalling these apps might remove the menu, but this is usually not necessary if you only want to hide the controls.
