Edited captions don't have line breaks

I'm having an issue where using the Transcript Window to edit captions results in losing the line breaks. The edited caption displays in one long line instead of stacked. Downloading and editing the transcript offline doesn't result in this issue—it only happens in the transcript window. Are there any special characters or settings I can use to maintain the line-breaks?
