- ras0stBrass ContributorHonestly one of the most disappointing releases. First its 6 month late, then only half of the functionality gets released and the one that do gets released barely work. Images, the quick link web part etc doesnt load when you expand a collapsed section making this useless.

Can anyone confirm if the standard release for Collapsible sections has been extended again? It was supposed to be released by end of last month. It is currently not showing for standard release so far.

Updated September 30, 2021: As shared previously, the new Collapsible Sections was deployed to 100% of Targeted Release customers. We held the solution at the Targeted Release phase while we addressed some issues that were reported with the solution. The issues have now been addressed and we will be resuming the global rollout to all customers. It is now our expectation that we’ll complete the rollout of the feature by the end of October 2021. Thank you for your patience.- lisa whiteBrass ContributorThanks for the update. I'll check it mid-November.

Has anyone else noted any problem loading these collapsible sections on MacOS Big Sur--all browsers?
- Functionality works on Windows and MacOS Catalina, both Safari and Chrome.
- Not working on multiple machines with MacOS Big Sur, NEITHER Chrome NOR Safari. In these environments, the collapsible sections and it's content is just absent.
Makes this a challenge to develop with collapsible elements.
Is this an issue on anyone's list??
MEPinformatics I am using Windows. So, I haven't checked collapsible sections on MacOS.

- MEPinformaticsCopper ContributorI misdiagnosed the problem. It was not due to the OS. Caused by “targeted release features” only toggled on for me, yet not toggled on for my team. My team all with Big Sur MacBook Pros, but I run both a Catalina MacBook Pro and Windows 10 PC at the moment—so this became confounding as we debugged.
MEPinformatics Ah, got it. Others users has to wait until the standard release (GA) of this feature or you have to enable the targeted release for other users as well.
Check this documentation for more information about release options: Set up the Standard or Targeted release options

- VictaulicKatKCopper ContributorFunctionality is not stable. Once a section is created and set to be collapsed by default, one can no longer access the edit mode of the section and /or webpart. It will expand in published state but cannot be edited any longer. Tested in Edge and Chrome.
VictaulicKatK I too faced this intermittent issue on my tenant. Clicking multiple times (fast) on collapse/expand icon worked for me though (sounds silly but it worked!).

ganeshsanapthe arrow now shows up above or below the heading, which makes no sense.. will it be adressed?
- CallistusCopper ContributorKeep in mind you are working within the browser, so, browser, screen resolution, window size, and zoom level can all play a part in how things are rendered on screen. I am NOT saying that's the cause but it is something to note.
- vnorheimCopper ContributorNot the cause
vnorheim I see that many people are facing this issue from last few days & I think it will be fixed by Microsoft in upcoming releases.
I will recommend you to raise a support ticket with Microsoft & report the issues you are facing with collapsible sections.

Section Display Name box is not there anymore (See screen shot highlighted in red). Did something change recently?

Imran_Blog : Thanks for brining this up.
Even I noticed the same today - the section name is not working visible. I tried creating a new section, declaring it as collapsible but even then the display name is not visible.
- Imran_BlogCopper ContributorLooks like issue started on 12/3. See here where a few people are having the same issue https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/modern-sharepoint-collapsible-sections-no-longer/c496d318-f6e0-46d4-9033-d6bd32221f3f
- SBailey_72Copper ContributorI have experienced this too today - it was there any working for my other pages where I have applied collapsible sections and now I am unable to name the section. Any ideas or is this a MS issue?
SBailey_72 This is an issue from Microsoft side. I will recommend you to raise a support ticket with Microsoft.

ganeshsanapSince today we cannot edit the headlines for the collapsible sections. It doesn't work for existing ones and new ones.
DFiedler Yes, many users are facing the exact same issues. Check my comments above in the same thread.

- teapengCopper ContributorAnybody know if Microsoft is in the pipeline to support the header text change? I tried custom CSS but it's not working. Or anybody got any idea how to reduce the font size? TIA
- HeinrichSchwarzBrass Contributor
teapeng I tried different approaches to configure the styling of the headings. But I didn't found a way to do so.
I hope that MS has a general update of collapsing sections in the pipeline but I don't know.
if Pernille-Eskebo is reading here from my perspective the following things have to be updated:
1) Expanding and Collapsing sections by "URL Parameter" such that I can decide in my links how sections are shown
2) Enabling the Styling of Sections headings
3) Allow Images as Section Headings
4) Decide weather the content of collapsed section is preloaded (quick display) and searchable with ctrl+F
5) Allow cascades of collapsing sessions- rgwinnBrass Contributor
I just checked this and it appears that for some reason no one other than ADMIN can see the actual section on a mobile device. We tried using this for FAQs where the question is the expandable/collapsible section and the answer is just a text block. It works fine on laptops but not on mobile devices. Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Can we collapse and expand multiple sections together on a published page..
As if we have many sections then doing it for individual section is not user friendly.
Also it hinders the search functionality on the page since the search on page only works on content visible in the expanded portion.
I don't think currently there is any SharePoint out of the box way to collapse/expand all sections on the site page at once.

anilky111 no, it's not possible to expand all sections at the same time.

- TasmaniaBrass ContributorI absolutely love collapsible sections, but like others here, I need a way to link a collapsed section and automatically have it expand. This seems to be a common need (there are other threads about this on the tech community). Is there any movement on making this happen?
