- Hello, the "add a content type" via the new, modern method is only available for document libraries. For lists, you still have to add them via the old method. With the list settings | advanced | "allow management of content types" set to yes then you should be able to add them via the old method, even for modern lists.

- Yes, this is what I did. It is just confusing because we always see these warning messages saying that we should now use the add column option to add a content type (in the list advanced setting and the add a content type from the list setting.).
