Links Only Working When I Right Click and Select Option to Open - I Want to Open with Left Click

Hi. I am relatively new to SharePoint so apologies in advance if I use any terms incorrectly. 

I have made a .png image. I made an image map to define areas on the .png image to works as clickable links. I took the embed code from the image map and used the embed web part to add the image to my SharePoint site. It all works except for one thing. The links only work when I right click and select an option to open them. I have used target="_blank" in my image map and embed code.

My aim is for the links to open automatically when I left click them. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong?
