May 26, 2017How to track query activity in SharePoint Online
I find it rather funny that I cannot figure out the keywords needed to find the right resources around this topic. I am hopeful that you all can assist me.
In SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013, we regularly track usage and query string use to get a sence of direction for automation, content and search optimization as well as user training.
The report we produce literally answers the question, "What keywords or queries are people using?".
How does one find the same information within an Office 365 tenant?
Again, this is not an inquiry into what people viewed or clicked on.
That seems to be readily available via many routes in "Security & Compliance".
I litterally want to see what query string(s) are being used as I currently do within the on-premise farm.
Is this level of clarity still available with an Office 365 tenant?

Hi James, even though you are having difficulty finding keywords that help you find the right resources, I'm pretty sure I understood what you meant. For the information you are looking for you may need a third-party analytics solution. Cardiolog Analytics is made to connect with all versions of SharePoint and Office 365. It also provides metrics that will answer your questions. Cardiolog will show you the most popular sites a long with popular search queries and failed searches. You will be able to tell which pages people are most interested in, what people are searching for, and what people are searching and failing to find. You can also get reports about pages people are quickly leaving and the following pages people click on afterwards. I really beleive Cardiolog will be of great help to you. Heres the site if you want more information and to possibly book a free demo www.intlock.com
