Default Column Values Copy to New Library
Hello,
I've created a document library within one teams site, however we're moving it to another one (i didn't realise at the start that i wasn't using a comms site). I can copy all the contents across, but i would like to also copy all the default column values settings which I've created, for example depending on which folder you put files in, it automatically updates the column to say "quotation" or "service report" etc.
I've painstakingly done this for many folders (maybe 100+) and on different levels, so for example if you were dragging service reports to save into a folder within "fire hydrants, hydrantsRus, Service reports" it would automatically fill the following columns:
Contract - Fire hydrants
Provider - hydrantsRus
Document Type - Service Report
Date - 02/01/2025
Contract Group - Fire Protection
I'm hoping there is a way to copy the entire library and keep the column default values too but i've not found it yet, any help would be really appreciated!

it's not possible over the SharePoint GUI. You can try it with PowerShell (as example, but not tested: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/powershell-script-copy-sharepoint-online-library-content-rakesh/ ) or with third party migration solutions.
