Project Managers have edit rights to all Projects

I have a strange issue where the Project Managers somehow has access(view and edit) to ALL projects (even those they are not a owner on). I have tried several things,

- remove all categories (including My Projects) associated with the Project Managers group

- checked all other categories that the resource isnt part of it

Nothing seems to work. If I remove a user from the Project Mangers group they do get an error since they cannot log into PWA. But even with No Categories associated, the Project Manager and see and edit ALL projects. I am quite sure this isnt how it should work.

Any ideas?

  • See if your resources have a common RBS value assigned as this can exhibit the behavior you're experiencing. Also ensure they were added as Site Collection Admin for the PWA. If this doesn't help can you elaborate on the issue? Are you using the term Project Manager to define anyone with a Plan 3 license that should be able to create/edit projects, or is that a subset of users?

Thanks for the response! So my permission changes to restrict access was correct. But while testing I used the delegation function. And me being a SCA, no matter what I did, the changes did not seem to work. Eventually I had a regular Project Owner test it. That worked as expected. So it was my bad.
