Revert to old Planner?
As of today, the new Planner version has been rolled out for our organisation.
MS Planner is pretty much the most important tool for our project management.
With the update, we can no longer copy plans without deleting all tags.
In our organisation, the tags assign the responsible department to the respective tasks. This makes them extremely important.
"Template Plan":
Plan after we did a copy&paste:
Even the Tags have to be renamed:
Is there a way to revert to the old Planner?
Is Microsoft aware of this problem?
Kind Regards

I'd also like to revert to the old Planner. My issues are mainly two:
- The "Assigned to me" view, which I use 95% of the time, was worsened. On the old Planner I could choose a Board/Kanban view and group tasks by Due Date. This was perfect, because then I could view the tasks due today, due tomorrow, due this week and due in the near future (the green are on the image below). Now, I only have a overwhelming list view which doesn't help me focus on the tasks that are due soon. The Kanban/Board view is still available inside each Plan but this doesn't solve the problem because my tasks span multiple Plans. I need a unified view where I can see all my Assigned tasks in all Plains, and I need the Kanban/Board view so I easily prioritize by due date.
- On the old Planner (which was always on Board/Kanban view) I could simply click a task to view its details. Now, I can no longer click on the name of the card (on list view is all I have), I need to move my mouse cursor to the right side of the screen and then click on a tiny post-it icon. And for some reason, the comments aren't even loading.
Please let us go back to the old Planner!

I agree with this completely, there are some good changes made however the Assigned to me or My tasks view has now taken a massive step backwards is now cluttered and confusing without buckets. There is also no Calendar view. Come On Microsoft please reinstate the Bucket View in the my tasks view, not too hard given it's there in each plan..........

Okay so what you have to do is go to a specific board and then one of the NEW filters is "Assignment" and then you can select yourself. I'm not sure if this is the end solution but it's something I've found!

100% agree, losing the Board view with buckets in "Assigned to Me" (now "My Tasks") is has absolutely killed the usefulness of this app. Much harder to view and prioritise my workload quickly. Recently moved the whole company over to Planner from Trello. Wish we hadn't.

Having the same issue, can no longer view tags on tasks in "assigned to me" the list view is lacking. Also not having board view has created significant issues. I have no idea how to manage my workflow right now, will have to come up with a completely new system.
Board view won't be back till early 2025 which is very disappointing. - loicCopper Contributor
Same here.
I've noticed over the years that Microsoft product updates are being released rapidly and frequently, sometimes without reaching feature parity with previous versions and let the customer figuring it out.
This leads to issues and frustration for our clients which translate in production impact. In some cases, they also remove customization options for administrators.

Yes, please enable the old web view for Planner till all view are implemented in the new Planner view.
Things I miss in the new Planner, some was implemented in the old one:
- My Tasks board view and grouping by due dates
- My Tasks visible labels and immediate view of notes/descriptions
- My Tasks schedule view
- My Tasks view searching across plans, not just tasks
- My Plans view searching across tasks, not just plans
What I really like:
- My Day as an addiitonal layer
- Grid view of all plans and search
Anyway, it's in this stage a step

We just got done training our entire organization to use Planner. Specifically the "Assigned to Me" functionality to allow users to see tasks from the 20-30 projects each are working on. Allowing user's to see these tasks to be sorted into due date buckets was the main driving factor behind the decision to move all projects onto sharepoint and use the task system.

Thank you for the feedback JimEngentAnd for sharing the details of what scenarios are important for your organization. We're actively working on bringing the board view functionality to My Tasks and Assigned to Me. You can keep track of updates on timing in both the Planner blog as well as the Planner roadmap. . Thank you for your patience on this.

Why was board functionality removed in the first place? Was there widespread reporting of that UI element being detrimental to operation? STOP removing/changing UI and functions just for the sake of it. Our SaaS prices keep going up, but the quality of product keeps going down.

Jonathan-H thank you for sharing your feedback. We're working on fixing the issue so that when you copy a basic plan you're able to copy the labels with it. The fix for this issue should be available in the coming days as it rolls out. Thanks for your patience.

AnavSilvermanthank you for answering this post.
That are good news which I already forwarded to our PM-Team.
Where will be informed about the fix? In the Planner Blog or elsewhere? - hpwaterCopper Contributor
Will you also be restoring the outlook intergration? and if not... what are the alterate options for this.

Agreed 100% this new version is terrible. What is the point of the My day tab. It will only show tasks that are due on that day. If I have overdue tasks apparently it's ok to forget them. I have over 80 tasks assigned to me, but my day only shows on. It says I got it all done with time to spare, so I guess I can go home early.
This isn't a step backwards, this is at least 5 back.

Wake up Microsoft. Be a trend setter and actually consider your user base; especially the loyal ones. We use this stuff day-in and day-out.
Stop the ridiculous "feedback" of us asking you to reinstate obvious misses in the initial rollout. Stop being like Apple and releasing obvious basic needs as "new features". This is complete madness.
This is it for me. Never again shall I be sideswiped by Microsoft's stiff hand and lack of communication with Planner. I'm done.
Much better and no childish BS alternatives:

also cant sort the lists of plans in the My Plans view. forced view by last visited date.
This whole app is has taken a massive back step. Going to have to go back and pay for asana.
