Outlook loses the chronological order

Hi guys, my inbox doesn’t have any kind of chronological order, just a mix of old and new mails and I can’t see the new mails (for example if a friend e mail me right now I can’t see it but the inbox counts the mail increasing the number). How can I do? Thank you.
