<style> in <head> got stripped out on Outlook.com resulting in incorrect styling
Hi there,
When sending emails, we noticed that the <style> elements in <head> got stripped out by Outlook.com (the web client), making our emails style incorrectly.
Is this a bug on Outlook.com? Or is this a new feature that Outlook.com added?
- cjdingerCopper ContributorI am seeing the same issue in New Outlook and office.com (web) Outlook. Classic Outlook and Outlook mobile looks okay for the same content. This started just a few days ago.
Content in question is HTML formatted with <style> directives that have been proven to work well in email clients in general. As a sender of styled email, I'm concerned that this content has degraded appearance and usability for recipients who are using New Outlook. - cjdingerCopper ContributorI think this must be a bug in the most recent updates. If I go to Forward a message that isn't rendering the style properly, the forwarded message IS rendered as expected. The email content is fine and unaffected, and renders okay in all settings except for the initial view of the message in New Outlook or Outlook on office.com.
- cjdingerCopper ContributorFWIW, I'm seeing this behavior is resolved now. At least for the moment, <style> formatted emails are rendering correctly in New Outlook.
