Snipping Tool: Policy to Disable "Automatically save screenshots"

Hello OneDrive Community!
We have a use case for the need to push a setting to disable the Windows 11 Snipping Tool to "Automatically save screenshots" to OneDrive.
Is there a group policy or a registry setting that will set the toggle to autosave to Off?

Has there been any updates for a GPO to be created to turn off the autosave? This could be a HIPPA and security violation.

If you're a doctor you'd know it's spelled HIPAA. If the goal is to prevent deliberate data exfiltration then even disabling the tool entirely may not be enough.

we also have the same requirement to prevent users from accumulating huge amount of potentially sensitive information on all our workstations

Yes, there is a way to disable the Snipping Tool’s autosave feature to OneDrive. You can turn off the “Automatically save screenshots” option in the Snipping Tool settings. Here are the steps to do so:

    1.Open the Snipping Tool app.
2.Click/tap on the See more (3 dots) button, and click/tap on Settings.
    Turn Off Automatically save screenshots.
You can now close the Snipping Tool app if you like.

Alternatively, you can disable the Snipping Tool using the Registry Editor. Here are the steps to do so:

Press Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
    Type “regedit” and press Enter.
    Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer.
Right-click on Explorer and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
    Name it “Disable Snipping Tool”.
Double-click on Disable Snipping Tool and set its value data to.
Click OK and close Registry Editor.
Please note that modifying the registry is risky and can cause irreversible damage to your system if done incorrectly. Therefore, it’s recommended that you create a backup of your registry before making any changes.

      Thank you for your reply.
These two options are close to what we need, but not exactly.
We would like to push a GPO setting that would be filtered to a specific AD Group of users to disable and also to enforce the setting to not automatically save the screenshots from the snipping tool.
      Thanks again.

To disable the Snipping Tool in the Group Policy Editor or the Registry Editor. Here are the steps to disable the Snipping Tool using the Group Policy Editor:

1.Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.

2.Type 'gpedit.msc' and press Enter to open the Local Group Policy Editor.

3.Navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Tablet PC > Accessories.

4.Select the Enabled option to disable the Snipping Tool.
