Make old Groove client "disappear"? (during evaluation of NGSC)

We are evaluating moving to the NGSC.  We have not enabled the "use NGSC" switches in SharePoint settings.

I remember before I had 3 "clouds" in my icon list (one for groove, one for NGSC, and one for personal)

I now no longer have the one for Groove.  I only have NGSC (business and personal).  When I try to sync OneDrive or SharePoint, it uses NGSC flawlessly (as it should).

Our other users have the 3 clouds.  I don't recall doing something to make the old Groove go away/turn off, but is there a way to use the NGSC fully for select users without turning on the switches in SharePoint settings?
