Register com components

Hi,

 

I have an app which has component written in VC++ . It is a shell overlay extension. Can I use MSIX to package my app and also have it register my shell extension?

    ajay_whiz My experience is that it depends on the Shell Extension.

     

    We have seen shell extensions like context menus work well, while others are not.  It is not clear which are supported or not at this point (I have a list of 30 different shell extension types).  One set of limitations exist in the OS Runtime support, another set in the AppInstaller, and a third set in the MSIX Packaging Tool.

     

    So your best answer is to try it!
