Students disabled but faculty enabled. Licence student for faculty grants access or not?

We're an EDU tenant and currently have Teams for students disabled (see attached screenshot) and enabled for faculty. I've an exception where I need a student who's moved into a staff role to work with staff. Long story short, delay in moving her student account means I need an interim solution. I've previously been told the workaround is remove Teams from her Student bundle and add Teams via the Faculty bundle. Tested it and nope, doesn't work. Waited 24 hours, nope doesn't work. She's getting the usual message about contacting admin to enable it.

Any ideas?

I don't have an EDU tenant to play with, but from memory you can manage Teams either as a semi-global setting for Students-vs-Faculty, or alternatively through application licenses.

If you go to Office365 Admin Portal > Users > [User] > Licenses & Apps > Expand Apps > Microsoft Teams- Does she have Teams enabled there?

Also, see this from some time ago = https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-teams/unable-to-access-teams-after-changing-license-from-student-to/m-p/61654

TL:DR is apparently that you have to wait longer between switching the licenses. I'm assuming that you've already removed her "student" license and granted a "staff" license?

Yup, was all about timing. I think it took three days. Check with student on day 1, nothing, day 2, nothing, day 3 receive message from student via Teams confirming it's working.

SinfulDust thanks for the reply. I can confirm she's licenced. It might yet be a timing thing. I'll go read your article. Thanks
