My students are being added as guests...

We are a college, in our organization we have the faculty and staff email with the ending fpctx.edu and the students have the email ending student.fpctx.edu. They are technically not funneling into the same "organization". We are trying to train our teachers to use TEAMs in their classroom but when we add the students they are added as guests, which limits how many we can add, their ability to turn in assignments, grading, everything. 

 

Is there a way to distinguish our organization to have both emails associated with it so that our students aren't guests but included? I am working with our IT department to resolve this but they are also at a loss on what to do.

 

Please any help or advice would be appreciated. 

  • It sounds like your students are in a different tenant all together. The only way to fix it would be to create the students in the same tenant and add the domain to the same tenant so their e-mails / logins use the other domain. But since they both have the same parent domain you would think they are in the same tenant?

    Are the students and the Teachers both listed under the same user list in the admin center, or do your admins have to go to two seperate locations to manage the users?
