Hybrid Active Directory Sync to Teams Client

I have made a few updates to contacts/guest accounts and fixed some names and other user details in on-premise AD. I see that there was an AD Sync after changes were made. However, the Teams client has not updated. How long does it take for this to happen and is there a way to force/push these changes to the clients?

  • There's a long chain of synchronization between different parts of the service, so it might take a while. On top of that the Teams client caches a lot of stuff locally, so it might not reflect the latest server data (even the web client has something similar). I'd suggest you verify the changes via the admin endpoint or by using OWA, if you see them correctly reflected there it's just a matter of time for Teams to catch up.

      followup question...

Is there any kind of contention to have a user as a Guest account and also have a Contact with the same name? This might be more for the exchange community as its falls under the address book.
