Chat window opens on top of meeting window when clicking on Teams icon in dock (MacOS)
When I'm on a Teams video call and I'm working on another app, if I click the Teams icon in the MacOS dock, it brings up the Teams chat window on top of the Teams video call window. So I have to minimise the chat window to see the video window.
This is because there is a separate window for chats as for a video meeting (and yes I have checked my settings and I have selected that new chats and incoming notifications are opened in the main window, not a new separate window)
I can't even resize the chat window so that even if it's on top it's small because of this window resizing bug. That would have been a nice workaround.

Workaround is to click the dock icon and then press command + ` to switch to the other active teams window.

Agree, this is super-annoying, Microsoft please provide an option to disable the chat window or not have it open on top of the Teams call window.

It is amazing how this is not handled correctly... since years!

I sometimes wonder, how these big companies get such basic things so wrong. If I have a call on, isnt it natural to go back to the call and not the chat window.

Same issue and it's annoying. Could it be possible to have a the call window that is in progress when we click on the teams icon?

This is especially annoying since it is a regression. A year ago the behavior was better, and then it changed to this "chat always on top" nonsense.

Sorry for the dumb question, but is Microsoft watching this? I find this to be the most annoying issue with Microsoft Teams

Agreed. If I need to flip between a meeting and something else, I want to be able to click on the Teams taskbar icon and be taken back to my meeting - not have the general Teams window pop up and block my view. Surely it should default to a meeting view if one is running.
