Virus & Threat Protection Updates

Hey Everyone, 

I would like to setup rules where devices are forced to run Virus & Threat Protection updates automatically or users are prompt to run the updates as soon as new updates are available. 

My question, can I do that through Endpoint protection or Microsoft Defender?
