how to get details of virus threat?
I thought I had a virus... so ran a full scan: no virus found. But I still felt something was wrong so I restored Win11 back to factory (and installed updates). Now I ran more scans. My C: drive was clean, but on a scan of the 😧 drive it found one item! Great! But now what? Do I need to do something? There was nothing listed under "protection history".
I presume that 'no current threats' means that something was eliminated. Is that true?

- LuigiBrunoSteel ContributorDid you check into the Windows Defender's Protection history to view the latest protection actions and recommendations?

LuigiBruno, per my original post, there was nothing under protection history.
And I went to look again today. I checked all filters and there was still nothing listed, except that it wants me to setup OneDrive for file recovery.

I created four new folders and moved part of my d: drive folders to them, then scanned each new folder in order. I was able to narrow where the offending item was. It turned out that I had carried forward my 'download' folder from three desktops ago and it had something suspicious. I deleted the whole folder.
But it seems like 'virus and threat protection' finds threats but does not eliminate them.
