Error message when required data is empty

Hello,

I have two required fields on my bookings page.

If those are empty and I click on "book meeting", there is no error message.

The bookings page is just reloading itself and a potential customer doesn't get informed, that the meeting IS NOT booked.

Is there any chance to have an error message if something isn't filled out correctly?

Same problem here and I'v tested things on multiple booking sites and they all have the same problem so I was wondering why no one else had posted anything on here about it. I tried to highlight the problem earlier in a post on 2024-08-28 here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-bookings/validation-errors-not-being-shown-to-the-user/td-p/4230615
But nobody responded. Something must have changed during July or August. I checked on this site again today because the number of bookings is growing and so the number of problems is also growing! Trying to deal with all the problems that this bug is causing is becoming more and more difficult for us to manage.

The bookings program used to show the user that there was a problem if they didn't fill out the form correctly but now it just reloads the page and the user believes that they have booked something with us!
We tried to highlight on our website to say that the booking is only valid when they have received a confirmation email - because this works every time we test it! But we just keep getting people showing up claiming to have booked something that is not in the booking system (we guess that the booking page just reloaded for these people). Another unfortunate trend is that that people keep writing to us to say that they are not receiving their confirmation emails (even when they have booked correctly - the cause of this problem seems to be less clear, we presume that the confirmation emails are automatically filed as junk but some people claim that they never received any confirmation for their bookings?).
The booking form is not difficult to fill in but from checking with multiple people when these problems occur it seems to be just that the user does not realise that they need to click a time for their booking even though, for us, there is just one time per day to choose from. It might make more sense to automatically select the first time for the user? This has a visual appearance that shows the user that something is selected and they would be able to change it if it is wrong! But even when the error message did work it was never really clear for the user what part of the form they missed.

I sincerely hope that the bug gets fixed soon, we've been trying to cope with it for nearly a month now and it seems to affect 10 - 20% of all our bookings.

Literally the same issues! We will see what Microsoft respond with. At this point, I don't need to ask for a feature change, I just want the form to act like any online form ever and show some validation errors (pretty basic stuff). We too have created a new page with loads of guidance, but people don't read them, not that they should have to.

It’s fixed on my end now! I get a dialogue box appear with information about any missed fields and the time. Also, the form no longer refreshes!!! Yay! Thanks Microsoft, hoping to get some office hours back as a result of not being bombarded by the delegates.

Having the same issue here. If people don’t complete the form at all it just reloads, let alone required fields. We are having people show up to sessions without a booking and are also having to manage endless emails from people asking if their booking is confirmed. It’s taking up all my time.

bastianschmid same issue!  The Book button is active without selecting a specific time resulting in a page refresh, but no actual Appointment.  How do we make the Date & Time selection a required field I wonder??

I have raised it with the support team and I’m hoping to get a response soon. Pretty sure they will prioritise this as I noticed that even the Privacy Policy consent check box isn’t being validated. Not only is this not good enough, but could potentially be deemed illegal.
