Certain booking pages auto fill contact details with current email that is signed in

Hi,

So for our company, we have multiple booking pages, on two of them we have blank ones for when you choose the person, time and service. Where as for the rest the contact details are auto filled with the details of the current Microsoft account that is signed in.

It has suddenly appeared, and is something we don't want to happen as majority of bookings are made by staff on behalf of the client, so for them to each time delete all the data and refill, i know is small but not something we want.

Anyone have any idea of why this has started to happen and how to stop it from happening?

We’ve struggled with this for approximately 1yr+ now. We opened 2 tickets related to this issue, and both times after lengthy troubleshooting with the Bookings and Edge teams, it remained unresolved. The techs we worked with escalated both our cases to bug issues and after a time, they suggested we just close the cases with them. The only development we’ve seen since has been the introduction of the use of the userID to prefill the fields, which I think first arrived a few months ago.

I’m having trouble imagining any scenario where drawing down the userID data is preferential to the use of the cache of PersonalData in a browser - the PersonalData cache is much more flexible for a diversity of business workflows, which I think is why it’s a broad standard for fillable forms on the web.

It’s frustrating because Bookings clearly carves out a top-level page configuration setting that allows for companies to work the pages as internal-only, self-service pages. I’m sure someone must realize that configuration makes the prefilled userID data pretty unhelpful.

What also makes this hard for us is that the PersonalData draw from our browsers worked fine for about 2 years when we started with Bookings in summer 2020 until around summer 2022. Our Edge browsers pulled PersonalData into our Bookings pages perfectly. It was so, so helpful for our users. Now they’re copying and pasting all their client data daily from their Outlook contacts. It’s mind-numbing. Definitely our biggest complaint about the whole ecosystem.

We need to use the forward facing Bookings page because the other options for creating a +NewAppointment like the back-end web portal or the VirtualAppts app don’t offer a SMS reminder consent from the outset.

We’re still holding out for a resolution for now. Bookings is a great service otherwise and has so much potential. We find the analytics to be a little too sophisticated; lots our meetings end up switching to audio-only calls or calls with Anonymous Users who join with a shortened link we send manually because the standard Teams links are too long for some of our basic SMS users. Otherwise; the basics are definitely there, and the integration with the other office apps is pretty invaluable. We hope to see a drive toward greater simplicity as Bookings evolves and once they settle in on the size and shape they want this thing to be.

This just started happening to us too! Did you ever figure out how to fix it? Was it a browser issue?
