Calendar invites not being sent

Calendar invites are not being sent when a booking has been made even thought the Booking page email notifications option  'Send a meeting invite to the customer' is selected and also in the service email confirmation option 'Send a meeting invite to the customer, in addition to the confirmation email' is  selected.

Is there something I am missing or is there an issue?

Many thanks for your response MrCharlesJenkins, it is much appreciated. I will work through those steps and see if I can find the issue.

  • If calendar invites are not being sent despite enabling the right settings, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check Your Bookings Mailbox Configuration

    • Ensure that the Bookings mailbox is properly configured in Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
    • Go to Admin Center > Exchange > Recipients > Shared Mailboxes and verify that the Bookings mailbox is active.

    2. Verify That Emails Are Not Being Blocked

    • Ask customers to check their spam/junk folders to see if the invites are being filtered.
    • If your organization uses email security filters (Defender, ATP, etc.), check if they are blocking the messages.

    3. Check Bookings Staff Email Settings

    • Go to Microsoft Bookings > Staff and verify that all assigned staff members have the correct email addresses and are set up to receive notifications.

    4. Confirm That Customers Enter Their Email Address Correctly

    • Sometimes, customers might enter the wrong email address. Try booking an appointment yourself to test.

    5. Test Sending Emails from the Bookings Mailbox

    • Go to Outlook on the web and send a test email from the Bookings mailbox to verify it can send emails.

    6. Enable SMTP Authentication for Shared Mailboxes (if applicable)

    • If your organization has disabled SMTP authentication for shared mailboxes, email delivery might be affected.
