Missing Color Typewriter animation in PP 2010

I use this animation a lot.  When I open a 2007 file, the animation button is there, but only on previously animated text boxes.  If I create something new, the color typewriter animation option is gone.

Can anyone give me some ideas about how to get this back?

The workaround I have right now is every time I want a text box with this effect I copy and paste an existing one and edit it, or going back and forth between 2007 and 2010 but I can't see doing this for long?
