Scheduling Assistant no longer functional?

I note that I see Microsoft have announced an inncident, however, i'm not completely sure these are related: https://admin.cloud.microsoft/?#/servicehealth/:/alerts/EX1092751

A few weeks ago we had no issues making use of the scheduling assistant feature when inviting users, however, this seems now to have broken. Oddly enough if I was to add one of these users calendars to my own I can still browse them without issue, it's only durig the scheduling function that it is left completely grayed out.

On investigation, it appears tied to users setting their working hours, by default this appears turned off for users, but if I was to set this, it does seem to work, albeit after some time waiting. Could this be due to an issue from MS, an unexpected change from MS (Places?) or something else? But it seems it's no longer pull the data from the same location, and as such, we're a bit confused as to why.

  • I'm unable to see that incident you are referring to, but in any case, if you can reliably reproduce this, open a support ticket.

Sadly, it isn't so consistent. I'm digging in deeper into this issue, the mailbox exists in exchange, correctly licensed with Office E1/E3 - I can confirm that sending and reciving functions work fine with end users but if I use PowerShell and attempt get-mailbox the object does not exist, get-recipient does, stating usermailbox as I would want. Overnight, some users who had the issue appear to now function, while others still do not. One user who did function now no longer does. I'm surprised if it's just our environment that's having this issue, noting we are 100% cloud-based.

Try resetting the navigation pane with the outlook.exe /resetnavpane command, and then the administrator can run Get-CalendarProcessing -Identity Conference Room Mailbox | FL AutomateProcessing to check the status of the Exchange server's calendar processing and make sure the value is AutoAccept, if not, rebuild the Outlook configuration file.
