Excel hangs while copying formula in column

Hi ,

 

I have 6000 rows of data. Everytime I select a column to copy the formula excel hangs.

 

Is there a way whereby I can specify the range for the formula to be copied?

    I hope you are not on Excel mobile. 

    Not sure how do you copy now, but yes, you may select the range. As variant, enter formula in first cell, let say C2. In name box (top left from the grid) enter C2:C6000. This range will be selected. Ctrl+D.

    I don't know your PC's configuration and Excel version. But I'm using i3 3rd Gen with 4 GB RAM, Excel 2016. No problem with Calculations. I've handled 10000 rows.

     

    It may took some time. But you must wait for calculations.

    OR

    Try macro. I've handled over 100000 records. it will done easily.
