Access to OneDrive folders & files remotely

Hi:

My workplace has a Microsoft 365 Family subscription and is using OneDrive for almost all its data files.

Presently excluded from OneDrive are system files and also Outlook 365 folders & files.  The latter exclusion may or may not be a good idea.  However the time to sync these files with OneDrive takes ages and absorbs bandwidth.

The information I need is to fully understand how to share all OneDrive folders & files with certain executives who may or may not be "family" members.

I ask because there seems to be a difference between M365 for Business and M365 Family in that, apparently, in Business M365 it is possible to share the whole of OneDrive, whereas in Family M365 it is necessary to share folder by folder.  If this is correct, is it a viable workaround to have a "Head Folder" in OneDrive for M365 Family under which all other folders are resident?

As well as comments on the foregoing, reference to detailed materials on OneDrive will be much appreciated.

Sincerely ... DavidNeville

Hi. You will need a Business subscription. If you are using a retail, family version for a business you are out of the TOS.

I would recommend updating to a business M365 plan, and you will have more control over document sharing and can even leverage SharePoint Online document libraries and the like.

    Cheers.

    Jay.
