Internation Client

We have an international client whose HQ is in Europe. They want us to take over full support of their US office, including their O365 licenses.

I am not sure the best way to ask this, but is there a way to have their licenses be US based for us to manage but they would still be part of the global tenant?

Or, what is the best way to do this. They want us to have admin rights and be able to assist the US office efficiently.

Thoughts?

Like Nick mentioned, CSP is region bounded. When you have an office in the EU, you can only provide licenses to customer tenants in the EU. Not to tenants based in the US, or elsewhere.

But I believe you want the US office to be part of the same global tenant (which is based in EU)? And still have the data of the US office be based in the US?
This setup is possible by using M365 Multi-Geo add-on licenses. You can purchase the required M365 licenses for the US employees and assign this add-on license them as well, then choose which geo region you want their data to be stored.
    More info: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/enterprise/microsoft-365-multi-geo?view=o365-worldwide

That way you can have a EU tenant, have the US employees be part of this EU tenant, purchase licenses for the US employees in the EU tenant, and 'deploy' their data in the US region with the Multi-Geo add-on.

If you are a CSP partner with a business only in Europe then you can only sell licenses to customers within your region.

This does not prevent you managing the US tenant, but you will not be able to establish a CSP relationship. You would need to be provided with appropriate access to access the US tenant to manage it.

From a license perspective, you could have a business partner relationship with a CSP partner in the US that provides the licensing and assistance with managing the tenant.
  • Hi Grosen70

It sounds like you'll need to review the supported CSP relationships (Supported CSP partner relationships - Partner Center | Microsoft Learn), or an Advanced deployment guide for O365.  To access this guide, you must be assigned an admin role such as Global Reader to access advanced deployment guides in the Microsoft 365 admin center.Advanced deployment guides for Microsoft 365 and Office 365 products - Microsoft 365 Enterprise | Microsoft Learn

Otherwise, this scenario will likely require one-on-one support from one of the advanced support plans or by submitting a support request in Partner Center.

If you are a Microsoft Reseller in CSP, you should work with your Indirect Provider (aka Distributor) who has a direct relationship with Microsoft and can provide you with customer support, pricing, and billing that help to ensure your success.
