Minimal role within Synapse to work with Serverless SQL Pool

What is the minimal role within Synapse to work with Serverless SQL Pool. Unless I give my self the Synapse Administrator role I won't be able to see a green status for the pool and then I can't query it within Synapse. I can use SSMS or Power BI to see the data if I create a Login in the serverless sql pool database... but just not within Synapse Studio.
