Integrated Apps & Central Deployment Fails

Issue with Integrated App and/or Central Deployment of add-ins ending with errors.

After trying several different apps, for Excel or Word the process ends with a different error depending on which method is used.

  • Integrated Apps, ends with a Failed
  • Central Deployment, ends with “This operation was unsuccessful - reasons may include:  Learn more about eligibility requirements.”

We are trying to deploy the web version of the app

  1. All users have a Business Premium license
  2. all prerequisites appear to be fine
  3. tried 3-4 different apps using both methods, Integrated apps & Central Deployment (Add-in)
  4. using Global Admin account to deploy
  5. Tried setting everyone, dif individuals all fail

We are trying to deploy an add-in for Excel web app, any assistance would be appreciated.

From what I can see all should be working, I have opened a ticket, which goes through a VAR now (strange).

Guess MS wants to collect the money but not provide direct support.

  • Consider on below:

    1. Check Eligibility Requirements: Ensure that all eligibility requirements for Centralized Deployment are met. Sometimes, changes in requirements can cause deployment issues.
    2. Browser and Private Window: Try using a different browser or opening a private/incognito window to access the Microsoft 365 admin center and deploy the add-in.
    3. Permissions and Roles: Verify that the Global Admin account has the necessary permissions and roles to deploy add-ins. Sometimes, trying with another Global Admin account can help.
    4. Service Health: Check the service health in the Microsoft 365 admin center to see if there are any ongoing issues that might be affecting add-in deployment.
    5. Manifest File: Ensure that the manifest file for the add-in is correctly configured and meets all requirements. Sometimes, issues with the manifest file can cause deployment failures.
    6. Support Ticket: If the issue persists, consider opening a support ticket with Microsoft 365 support. They can provide more detailed assistance and investigate any backend issues.
