Come on! Terrible New UI decision
I'm not sure who Microsoftoutlook decided to place the number of unread messages right next to the folder name, but they clearly don't use Outlook with multiple email addresses and multiple subfolders taking automatically filed emails. It is now so much more effort to quick scan the folders for unread email. Please have a word with yourself! Rant over :-) Please can you make the position an option. While you are at it, please add font size and colour options for all folders with options to change when containing new email. Thanks!

This bug has now been fixed.
Please update to the latest version within the Current Channel. At the moment; Version 2605 (Build 20026.20076).
If you are still affected by it then, wait 5 minutes and restart Outlook. The fix should be active then.
Thanks for reporting!

I hate this so much!

I assume you are referring to the change in Classic Outlook where the Unread/Total count changed to left justified in 16.0.20026.20048?
It could just be a bug. Or someone at Microsoft thought it looked better that way, so they inflicted their personal taste on a few million users.

Use the Favorites feature and only have the folders you want to actively monitor located there. These can be any folder from any account.
I have 6 mailboxes with dozens of folders and this method works for me.

Still doesn't work for me in favourites
No need to rant :) Instead, go post this as suggestion over at the Feedback portal, where the relevant PMs lurk (and others can vote for your suggestion):

"No need to rant" What kind of idiotic response is this? People use Outlook in their jobs, and some clown in UI decides to change this for no reason-without even giving us an option to change it back to how it was. Oh yes, let's fill out a form which no human will read or take action on

Ranting may help .... better than getting an AI response that decides it own thing
