Questions related to SharePoint as content-source (in Viva Learning)
Hi all I have managed to configure SharePoint (SPO) as a content source in Viva Leanning (VL). After a few weeks (!) of trial and error it finally works on a test-tenant. This however raises a few questions I havent been able to figure out or make work. Question 1. Is possible to add a thumbnail to the "course tile" (my word) as below. LinkedIN-learning can have a nice picture, but can .ppt or a video have the same? Question 2: Is it possible to change the language of a piece of Learning Content (see picture marked w green below) - and if yes; where? Any help and guidance is appreciated 🙏 /LasseLasse-S-FellowMay 02, 2023Copper Contributor2KViews1like6CommentsSYNC-function(s) in Viva Learning - How do they work in practise
Has anyone used these 2 functions with success? I haven't been able to find a description of how they work, anywhere. I guess (!) they accellerate the start of a SYNC - but cannot see it happen in practise. Any further information is much appreciated 🙏SolvedLasse-S-FellowJun 13, 2023Copper Contributor1.9KViews1like4CommentsViva Learning - Create Learning Path
Can anyone advise why I am unable to create a learning path in the admin tab in Viva Learning. Comparing my view to this link - Creating Learning paths in Viva Learning | Microsoft Learn I am missing a lot of tabs and options. I have the correct permissions assigned and have a customer also having the same issue. Is creating a learning path a premium feature? I only have the seeded elements of Learning and can't see anywhere advising its a premium feature. Any advise appreciated.lewisphxMay 12, 2023Copper Contributor1.8KViews0likes5CommentsTracking Learner Activity in Viva Learning
Does the Viva Learning interface have the ability to provide managers an overview of: what assigned courses have my staff got in progress or completed (tracking if my staff are meeting their learning goals) what courses have my staff bookmarked (tracking what content my staff are interested in to assist with career planning) what courses have my staff booked into their calendar (tracking if my staff are able to prioritise learning) I know it's possible to track progress and completion of courses I recommended to anyone, but the above are in addition to this. If not possible directly from the interface, is there any admin reporting available that Viva Learning admins can provide on request to managers for their team? We’ve observed a recurring theme of questions about creating learning paths and checking in on employee progress. Below are some useful links on how to accomplish both. Creating a Learning Path: For those unfamiliar, a learning path is a collection of learning objects or a sequence of learning activities relevant to the learning goals of employees, such as skill improvements or onboarding. Admins can customize learning paths to be aligned to the objectives/goals that they want their employees to meet. The learning path will be discoverable and searchable in Viva Learning for all employees, and anyone can share and recommend them. It should be noted that this is a premium feature and is only available with a learning license. This page provides instructions for creating a learning path, as well as guidance on how to access and manage the various learning path options: Learning Paths in Viva Learning. Tracking Employees Progress: A simple approach to keeping tabs on employees’ learning progress is to recommend a course and then monitor their progress as they work towards completing it. Read the step-by-step process on how to recommend a course and monitor its progress here: Recommend and Manage Content in Viva Learning. Feel free to let us know any other tips you’d like us to share on the different Viva Learning functionalities.LisaryvSep 27, 2023Microsoft1.2KViews1like0CommentsAn ultimate guide to Viva Learning

My name is Flemming Goldbach and I am the Chief Product Officer and Head of Engineering at LMS365. We are Learning Management platform built into M365 and have been an early adoptor and supporter of Viva Learning. I wanted to start the conversations in this forum but offering a perspective on how to drive a culture of learning. Key components to succeed with this are the following: Make it easy for people to get to the available learning opportunities This is done by ensuring that learning opportunities are available right at the persons fingertips - by being available right where they spend their working time: In Microsoft Teams. Ensure that the relevant learning opportunities are available This can be partially achieved by having relevant insights as to the different needs and connecting with large libraries to quickly offer ready-made generic learning content. However, to provide organization specific learning opportunities as well, learning and development professionals need to engage closely with subject matter experts - or empower those subject matter experts - to create organization specific learning opportunities in form of self-paced training (e-Learning), instructor-led training and/or on-the-job training opportunities. Promote learning successes in the organization This is achieved by ensuring that it is easy for people to keep a single source of truth with tracking of their learning successes (their learning transcript) regardless of where they achieved their learning success. To drive the change in behavior, the organization also need to publicly and loudly promote the learning success of the people in the organization who are front-runners. What other key components to drive a culture of learning do you see?Flemming_GoldbachApr 12, 2023Brass Contributor674Views3likes1CommentAssigning SharePoint Content as Required and Reporting on Progress in Viva Learning
HI, all. I'm working on setting up Viva Learning to track courses for our support team. I have SharePoint setup as a source and have a few content items that are showing as courses in Viva Learning. I have the option to recommend them, but do not see the option to assign them as required. I'd then like to be able to report on status/progress for the team. I see some reference to assigning external content via LMS as required but so far have come up blank on how to do that with custom content in SharePoint. Can one point me in the right direction or confirm this is not possible? The team is currently assigned trail Viva Suite licenses. Thanks in advance.RKONBob328Jun 01, 2023Copper Contributor623Views0likes2Comments
