GCC-High and Planner/Project for the Web/Teams/PowerApps/Accelerator
I have so many questions and I'm not entirely sure where to post or what to start with. I know this is a lot and I thank you in advance for whichever parts you can answer or point me to the correct answer. I have already been digging (and digging…) through KB articles, but it's a lot to go through and my technical skills are more of an understanding (it's why I'm a PM ^_^). If I am unclear in anything please ask and I'll try to rephrase/explain. Company is in a GCC-High environment. Team: Dept Head - needs all the access necessary to manage all programs and report to C-suite PM1 - me - needs all the access necessary to manage the platform and projects PM2 & PM3 - needs access necessary to manage their own projects, create reports, assign resources No PowerBI and least amount of/no admin necessary I (PM1) am a program manager, helping implement/improve PM processes I have the Plan 3 license, but can be moved to the Plan 5 license I also have a PowerBI premium license I think we're all on a G3(?) license? I can't seem to find the page to login to and check again industry is manufacturing We do have "vanilla" D365 (and apparently D365 Project Operations was unusable) ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Here's what I have to work with: Project Desktop/Project Online (prefer to get rid of this) Project for the Web (referred to here as PftW) "old" Planner Planner Premium is (by all accounts) not currently available for GCC-H Teams PowerApps (default environment) I really want Accelerator, but am still watching videos to try and figure out how to work it Most important stuff I'm trying to figure out: I will be the System Admin for our PM platform (Project for the Web, Planner, Project (PowerApp), Accelerator) What security roles do I need and where, especially in PowerApps? I can't find a screenshot of what's available so I have no idea what to research for will those security roles also cover PftW/Planner? Would I need any other permissions for Accelerator? Teams Apps: is the Project app in Teams available for GCC-H? everything I see says yes, but I can't find it in our "add-an-app" so I just want to make sure it is before I ask IT to go look again and enable it. Where does this pull from? Will it pull from PftW and planner? (since ours are kinda separate, sorta) Accelerator: IT would obvs need to deploy, but would each of us on Team be able to use it or it would need to be added for each user? Resource Management Groups/teams: Best way to assign a team (or sub-team) I cannot make groups, IT does not want to make more groups/teams We were able to get 1 team created with ALL members who would be assigned at least a task Can I create groups/teams within the resource management console in PowerApps that doesn't require any other resources (like an email/teams/sharepoint, etc?) My understanding: In PftW, you have to assign a project to a group. All projects are assigned to Group 1 (everyone) I want to: Assign a task to a "sub-group" like "Production" or "Engineering", but only one group can be assigned to a project Current workaround: make a new drop-down column OR use labels, but unsure if this would pull correctly into PowerApp/Accelerator Do I need any special permissions/security roles to manage resources in PowerApp? If you made it this far, I really appreciate it. I thank you for any help/insight you can offer.LAITPMApr 15, 2025Copper Contributor24Views1like0CommentsCan't leave a plan
Hi, I am new to Planner. I am a university student with Microsoft Planner, and I have been added to a plan shared with a group named "EOP Anti-Spam Inbound Junk Email Folder." I can't find the option anywhere to leave the plan, and the group doesn't appear in my Outlook group tabs. The plan also shows that there are over 16,000 group members. Could this somehow be tied to my organization? I don't want this plan to clog up my "My Plans" page, but I can't find anything to help me know how to leave! Hi, I want to replace Asana with MS planner but for that I need to be able to use colour codes based on labels. For instance, blue for social posts, green for e-blast, etc. Is this feature available with MS Planner? If not, will it be available in the future?crazymartianApr 09, 2025Copper Contributor13Views0likes0CommentsPlanner with Resource Calendars
Hi, I have a team with differing working hours e.g. some are 8 and some 6 per day. Is there anyway I can setup this flexible resource availability for my resources under Planner? I was hoping to use the "Resource calendars" option but have been advised this is not released yet. We are running this under Planner Premium. Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks.AlexShortApr 04, 2025Copper Contributor52Views1like2CommentsPlanner - We can't show comments right now
I'm getting the following error display as a banner on one of my Plans when I open Task items. "We can't show comments right now. Check again in a few minutes" I'm almost certain that this message only appears when a Task Comment has been deleted from the group mailbox. The issue is that the error message is misleading and my users think that comments are failing to show. Is there any way to prevent this message from displaying - I don't have access to the Admin Centre unfortunately.PhilLBowersApr 03, 2025Copper Contributor90Views0likes0CommentsPlanner 1 Premium Features NOT Converting
We started the free trial for the premium Planner 1 tier a couple weeks ago, and we have not been able access any of the premium features. I understand there have been a lot of changes with this app recently and many bugs to work out. But a bug like this would make sense if it took a higher priority. We are very eager to use Planner for our project management, and we really need a solution like Planner premium has promised to provide. I have provided a picture of what we can view on our screens when we try to convert the basic plan to premium. The button shows up, but once selected nothing happens. Before we went ahead a bought the Planner 1 with the free month trial, this was all we could see when we clicked a premium feature: And this was both within the desktop and web versions. Thank you for your prompt assistance.jkellyMar 30, 2025Copper Contributor44Views1like0CommentsCan we get Schedule view back?
When showing off Planner to a group of people today they noticed on an older, different plan the Schedule view, and really liked it. Of course, what I was showing them doesn't have that option anymore. Is it possible to to get this view back or if necessary, a "monthly" option within the "Timeline" view? When I create a bucket and add tasks, the most recent is at the top, so they are listed bottom up. Is there a way to change it so the default displays them from the top down as I enter them? Thank you.WillBeeMar 27, 2025Copper Contributor88Views0likes3Comments
