OneDrive error code 0x8004de26
We are a school system and are having an issue with our OneDrive app not allowing us to sign in. Things had been working until about 2 weeks ago and things stopped. We are having the issue across multiple users. We are on Windows 11 laptops and desktops and are trying to sign into the app to get items saved in on the desktop to syn with OneDrive accounts in the cloud. The sign-in process either simply spins or we get error code0x8004de26. I am wondering if anyone has resolved the same issue or has ideas? Thank you.75Views0likes2CommentsUnusual behaviour on my PC. Access to all Microsoft services blocked.
One Drive does not connect. Microsoft.com loads on Chrome & Firefox but the link to the Microsoft account login page is dead. Outlook.com does not load at all. Connect to VPN (same country) and access to all Microsoft services reappears. Disconnect from VPN, connect to mobile hotspot (different ISP) and problem appears again. Reinstalled windows and problem persists. Wiped HDD and installed Linux and the unusual behaviour continues on Firefox and Chromium. Weird! All other devices on broadband and mobile internet are behaving normally. Any ideas? Curse? Nation-State?27Views0likes0CommentsOneDrive Personal folder redirecting to OneDrive Enterprise
I am having a new issue with my work computer (AD registered) that has been working correctly for about five years with both my O365 and my personal OneDrive accounts. Both OneDrive folders are unique to each other in the root of my user folder, they are not sharing a common directory / folder and they have unique names too. (noted as problem for some users) However something has occurred in the last month (not sure of precise date) where my personal OneDrive account stopped syncing correctly. It will not upload or download files. It indicates it's synchronized but if you change files in the cloud or on the local machine it will not actually transfer anything. I tried performing a link and unlink and also tried performing a onedrive.exe /reset and neither has worked to restore operation. When relinking OneDrive it will pop up an error message saying "we're having trouble connecting to the onedrive service" when it's starting it's linking process and shows the initial folders to potentially be backed up (which I'm not using on this machine). So one thing I noticed during my troubleshooting is that if I double-click on my Personal OneDrive folder it redirects to my Enterprise OneDrive folder. I'm wondering if some kind of loop is being created, even though each OneDrive account has a unique folder that has a unique name it keeps redirecting to the Enterprise folder. I'm wondering during startup is the same thing happening and the OneDrive Personal instance is getting redirected too and creating some kind of weird loop or something? I've even tried exiting the OneDrive Enterprise client while the OneDrive Personal client is starting and still the same result. I'm totally stumped at this point...57Views0likes2CommentsFresh Win11 install, fresh Office365 install, Onedrive backup no connection to OneDrive-service
Hi community, got a new laptop with win11. fresh installation, Installed Office 365 (family license) as first package. No firewall/Antivirus other backup software installed. Onedrive says it´s connected. But if I start to select folders (documents/pictures) to automatically backup, the feedback is "Problem with connecting to the onedrive-service" File length or file names can´t be the issue, same error if folders are empty (fresh installation) No matter if I´m connected through my router (LAN/WLAN), hotspot on my mobile phone, neighbour´s network. Tried all resetting options Microsoft and web search is giving. No other result. Can anyone help me? trying to reach the support leads to "this support is currently not available"57Views0likes2CommentsForce OneDrive/Excel to return the local file path instead of a cloud URL
Hello, I have all my 3D models stored in a OneDrive-synced folder, including the Excel file that controls many of the model parameters. I work on three different PCs, so using OneDrive for synchronization would be ideal. However, my modeling software Solid Edge runs into a specific issue: it does find the linked Excel file in the OneDrive-synced folder and attempts to open it, but as soon as it tries to read the parameters, it gets stuck in an endless loop. The reason is that Excel no longer provides a normal local Windows file path for the workbook—even though the file is fully available offline. Instead, Excel exposes the OneDrive/SharePoint URL, and Solid Edge cannot process this URL, which causes the loop. What I have tried so far: Enabled “Keep files on this device” for the entire project folder Completely shut down OneDrive (disabled it and killed all OneDrive processes in Task Manager) Tried changing the stored Excel path inside Solid Edge from a local path to the OneDrive URL — Solid Edge does not accept URLs as valid paths None of these attempts solved the issue. If anyone has a reliable method to make Solid Edge read a OneDrive-synced Excel file as a local file path, I would really appreciate your help.85Views0likes3CommentsCOMPUTER HACKED

I'm having problems with slow syncing my local OneDrive folder to my online OneDrive. I recently added about 40K symlinks to my folder and I'm suspecting that could be the cause. But NONE of my symlinks are pointing to network files. They all point to local files in my local OneDrive folder. I just want to sync the symlink files themselves, not the files the symlinks point to. Those files will be synced separately since they are in the same tree. I have about 85K files in my OneDrive and, as I said, about 40K of those are symlinks. OneDrive has been syncing for 2 days now and it still says there are 82K files remaining. It's only syncing about 100 files per hour. I'm pretty sure it's the symlinks that are making it go so slow. Before I created all the symlinks, syncing used to be pretty quick. Alternatively, is there a way to tell OneDrive to just ignore symlinks? I only need them in my local OneDrive folder tree and I don't need them online in OneDrive. I'm the only user of the files. If I don't get a good solution from someone here, I'm going to try writing a program that moves all my symlinks to a temp folder tree outside OneDrive, finish sync'ing the real files, and then move the symlinks back to their original location. But this is risky and I'm worried about corruption. Why didn't Microsoft give us an easy option to ignore symlinks? :-(36Views0likes1CommentMicrosoft 365 OneDrive Android (OxygenOS 13.1) login fails with WebView / Error 2604
On OneDrive Android app, login through Microsoft 365 work / corporate profile fails and always ends up with either blank screen or "No Internet connection" error 2604. Here's the details: Device & Environment: Device: OnePlus 8 Pro (IN2023) OS Version: OxygenOS 13.1 (build IN2023_13.1.0.591(EX01)) Android System WebView Version: 142.0.7444.102 App Affected: OneDrive (latest version from Google Play, 26th Nov 2025) Network: Wi-Fi / Cellular (both tested) VPN/ Private DNS / AdBlockers: Disabled Problem Description: Attempting to log in to OneDrive using a corporate/work Microsoft 365 account: The login screen either shows a blank white screen or fails immediately with Error 2604: “No network”, despite internet connectivity being functional. Logging in with the same credentials in Chrome works, confirming network is not the issue. Issue persists after clearing app data, reinstalling OneDrive, updating Chrome, updating Android System WebView, and ensuring all app permissions and background data settings are correct. Steps to Reproduce: Start with OnePlus 8 Pro (IN2023) running OxygenOS 13.1 Ensure Android System WebView is version 142.0.7444.102 Install latest OneDrive app from Google Play Open OneDrive and attempt to log in with corporate/work Microsoft 365 credentials Observe blank screen or error 2604 Expected Behavior: OneDrive should allow login with corporate Microsoft 365 account Embedded WebView authentication should complete successfully Account token should be saved for ongoing use Additional Notes: Problem appears specific to embedded WebView login on this OS/device combination Likely a systemic issue affecting Microsoft 365 apps relying on WebView for login flows on OxygenOS 13.1 Logging in to a personal outlook.com microsoft account works normally. Hence, it seems to be tied to the WebView failure. Is there any fix to this?86Views0likes1CommentBest practice using same OneDrive Personal Vault on 2 PCs
Finally configured Personal Vault (should have done this long ago) in our Family OneDrive. When I unlock it, I use a PIN on my Win 11 pc to authenticate. When I login to the same Personal Vault on another PC, a request goes out to the Microsoft Authenticator on my iPhone. I would love to just let that PC use a PIN to login and not sent a authentication prompt to the Authenticator app. Is there a way to do this?118Views0likes1CommentOneDrive says tnot enough cloud space and asks me to free up space, but there are enough space.
Once I click on the "Free up Space" option, it just shows that I have enough space. I opened a ticket since 11/6 and heard nothing since.Same thing from my phone. The ticket was assigned to an agent on 11/7. No one responded. It has been 11 days since I asked for tech support. The problem persisted more than two weeks. Not even sure how I could get ahold of a human. Is my only option to cancel OneDrive and switch to NAS?168Views1like3CommentsAllowing External Access
Hi guys, I want to allow guest external access for the folder. I followed the guide and video posted by Microsoft: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/solutions/collaborate-on-documents?view=o365-worldwide I changed the setting in the SharePoint settings, in the identity settings, and I even changed the default permission from edit to view. The only change that went through is the default permission. When I go to my OneDrive and share something, the default is now view; however, I still can't share anything outside my organisation. Can anyone help me find out why? Does it take time for the settings to be pushed? Hope someone can help me.101Views0likes1CommentCan't get OneDrive with all my data on new computer
I bought a new laptop recently and have been working to set it up with everything my old computer has. I love my old laptop, but it is five years old and I worry about failure and losing everything. Because of that fear, I have used OneDrive heavily. Anyway, when there was a pre-BlackFriday sale, I purchased a new laptop. I got OneNote to come over with my folders, but I can't get the OneDrive synced. I have researched online and have tried sharing and other suggestions, and nothing works. How can I get my new computer to use the same OneDrive?113Views0likes1CommentMove files from Account A to Account B 165 GB data
I’ve been using Microsoft Office 365 Family for several years, sharing it with my family members. We have 6 accounts, each with 1 TB of storage. One of my accounts has now reached 985 GB, so I need to transfer files from Account A (my account) to Account B (my wife’s account). These files mainly consist of photos and videos — over 200,000 files in total. I tried transferring a 6 GB wedding shoot (.ISO format), but it took more than an hour. Re-downloading and uploading all the data isn’t feasible as my internet connectivity is limited to 100 mbps only. I’m looking for the best and most efficient way to move these files directly between OneDrive accounts.136Views0likes1CommentOneDrive - Mass File Deletion by OneDrive
I noticed in late July/early August that files in my OneDrive folders suddenly vanished. More than 25 years' worth data gone. Close to 300 GB of both personal and business data. Only the files were gone. The folders and file structure remained untouched. My OneDrive space is 2 TB. The Recycle Bin was empty. My OneDrive account has been active since OneDrive started and remains so without interruption. Through the forum community I learned that I am not alone with my frustrations. Microsoft Support scheduled a telephone call. The gentleman who called was rude. He said the only way files were deleted was by the user (i.e., me). That suggestion is ridiculous as it suggests I went into hundreds of individual folders and subfolders to delete files but leave the folder structure intact. The gentleman said there was no way OneDrive or Microsoft could cause that to happen. News flash. It wasn't just me. I later submitted a request for assistance by messaging OneDrive Support asking my issue to be escalated to the OneDrive Engineering Team for a One-Time Data Restoration (OTDR). I'm still waiting for a response or even as much as an acknowledgement of my support request. Does anyone else recognize this issue? What other ideas have others tried that worked to fix the problem? Any ideas on how I get my files back?593Views1like2CommentsSocial media links on these community pages
II don't know if this is due to my use of Firefox on my PC, but when I came here, I had to reduce the page size to 80% so those multiple social media links would not interfere with the display. Among other things, it make the past difficult for me to read. Can I eliminate those links?83Views0likes1CommentOneDrive stops syncing folders at random
Hi team I've got a couple of devices that are syncing less then 300,000 items. A couple of times a month OneDrive just stops syncing and won't start until its reset. Just to clarify OneDrive is still running, it just doesn't sync anything and the OneDrive status icons in File Explorer disappear Reset OneDrive resolves the issue but its frustrating as some of the files are shared with other people and I don't see their updates. Pause OneDrive and restart it doesn't do anything I have 100gb free on one device, 66gb on another and 50gb on the third No shortcuts are syncing Onedrive metered network option is turned off Updated to 25.184.0921.0004 No bandwidth limits applied Has anyone else had this experience? If so what did you do for a solution? Any assistance is appreciated184Views1like1CommentAccidentally deleted ALL of my files
I was under the impression that I was saving all of my files locally. I occasionally accidentally save something in OneDrive, and would leave it there, but most things were going into Documents, Pictures, etc. I have a different OneDrive path on my computer that I could see when I saved documents in Word. Today I decided it was annoying to keep accidentally saving in the wrong place, so I deleted OneDrive. There were way too many files for the Recycle Bin, so it was a hard delete. To my shock, all of my folders vanished. It turns out Documents, Videos, etc, were all in OneDrive. The problem is that when I go online and sign into my onedrive, I only see the files that I would occasionally accidentally save there, and those have not been deleteed. The bulk of my files, the ones from my local computer, are not there. I tried resetting to yesterday and it looks exactly the same. Any idea where those files were saved/are now? Are they recoverable or am I epically screwed?127Views0likes1Comment
