Got KB5067036 and was surprised by the naming "Preview Update (KB5067036) (26200.7019)" so found this article... It is baffling to remove date from updates.
Even more so because date is more useful than build number from the first glance to understand if device has the newest CU. If you really came to conclusion that Windows Update names are intimidating, I would suggest to review how you came to that conclusion since there is no way that Sara from local library will suddenly understand how to troubleshoot Windows Update issues after you have removed date info from naming.
Also if this simplified way is so much better why there even is a difference depending what was the update source? Why wouldn't everyone want to switch to this much better naming?
Additionally, I propose another improvement by removing those daunting error codes. They are scary and clutter UI and they are already available in logs. Now that I think of Update history could be confusing as well for non technical people, wouldn't it be much cleaner to simply remove it and just show if you are up to date or not? Furthermore we could remove also that, everyone should just take it as granted that you are up to date.
