Organizational messages generally available May 31st!
Hybrid work amplified the need for new digital communication channels to help organizations connect with their employees. With organizational messages in Windows 11, Microsoft Intune enables you to configure and send branded, personalized messages. These messages can be used to help people learn about key news, important trainings, and urgent security updates.

Today we're excited to announce general availability for Organizational messages on May 31st with the following features:
- Select from set 25+ messages supporting device onboarding and lifecycle management
- New! Taskbar message types available for personalization based on Admin feedback
- Upload organizational logo for branded messages
- New! Configure fully customizable URL links so users can access any organizational resource
- New! Configure custom message name for easier search and filtering
- Schedule time window and frequency for delivery
- Choose who can see the message by assigning to Azure AD user groups
- New! Stop showing message after a user has visited customizable URL
- Monitor experience insights
- Deliver messages in 15 supported languages
- New! Edit or delete scheduled messages
- Assign new built-in Organizational messages Manager role in Azure AD or Intune
- New! Assign a custom role with organizational messages permissions
- New! Support for scope groups and scope tags
Customer feedback on Organizational messages
Organizations that tried the public preview, released in November, reported positive results. They observed an improved user experience when clear and actionable messages were received, resulting in four times higher click-through-rate (CTR), than traditional corporate IT emails.
We listened to customers and prioritized an experience that delivers:
- Easy to build and deliver messages as an Intune administrator.
- Messages are clear and actionable to the end user.
- A communication channel that breaks through the noise of the day-to-day enterprise user experience.

What licenses are required for organizational messages?
The organizational message feature is included with the following licenses:
- Microsoft 365 E3
- Microsoft 365 E5
- Windows 10/11 Enterprise E3 with Microsoft Intune Plan 1
- Windows 10/11 Enterprise E5 with Microsoft Intune Plan 1
Which platforms does this feature support?
Organizational messages are only supported for devices running Windows 11, version 22H2 and later.
What role do I need to create organizational messages?
- Azure AD global administrator
- Intune administrator
- Intune Organizational Messages Manager
- Azure AD Organizational Messages Writer
- Any custom role with permissions for organizational messages
What do I need to set up before I configure my organizational message?
Before creating organizational messages, ensure the following are configured:
- To enable delivery for taskbar messages, enable the policies for AllowWindowsSpotlight, AllowWindowsTips, and EnableOrganizationalMessages. For Intune, use the Settings catalog or Device restrictions template to configure these policies.
- To enable delivery for Notifications area messages, enable the policies for AllowWindowsSpotlight, AllowWindowsSpotlightOnActionCenter, and EnableOrganizationalMessages. For Intune, use the Settings catalog or Device restrictions template to configure these policies.
- To enable delivery for Get Started app messages, enable the policies for AllowWindowsSpotlight and EnableOrganizationalMessages, and turn off the DisableCloudOptimizedContent policy. For Intune, use the Settings catalog or Device restrictions template to configure these policies.
Before you create your messages, you'll also need to prepare the following items:
- For branded messages, you will need three sizes of logos for your organization in PNG format with a transparent background:
- 48 x 48 pixels (for messages in the Notifications area)
- 64 x 64 pixels (for messages attached to the Taskbar)
- 50 x 50 pixels or 50 x 100 pixels (for Get Started app messages)
- For any messages featuring links, ensure that all URLs use verified Azure AD custom domain names.
