Did
you know that Microsoft Lync Server 2010 shipped with 540 Windows PowerShell
cmdlets? If you've worked with Windows PowerShell you'll probably find that
pretty amazing. If you haven't worked
with PowerShell, you may not even know what a cmdlet is. But that's okay,
because whether you're a Lync Server pro, a Windows PowerShell pro, or
completely new to everything, we have the resource you need to manage your Lync
Server deployment by using these 540 cmdlets. (Don't worry, you won't need to
use them all at once.)

Also
known as the Un-Blog ,
the Lync Server PowerShell
blog is the place to go to learn
everything you need to know about using Windows PowerShell with Lync Server
2010. Here are just a few of the things you'll find there:

Getting Started .
Learn the basics of using Windows PowerShell. When you have that down, you can
also learn the basics of using the Lync Server implementation of Windows
PowerShell.

UI Mapping .
Here you can see how the Lync Server Control Panel (the user interface for Lync
Server) maps to the PowerShell cmdlets and parameters. You'll also find mapping
from the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 interface to the new
PowerShell cmdlets.

Scripts .
Windows PowerShell scripts that are ready-made for you to copy, customize, and
use in your environment.

Daily
PowerShell Haiku
. Some are really good, some , well, you
may groan a little, but the information that comes with them is invaluable.
Much more than just a haiku, and there's a new one every (working) day.

Last
but not least, join in on the Lync
Server PowerShell Challenge
. Gain fame (but probably not fortune)
by competing in the weekly challenge. It's a fun way to learn about the Lync
Server PowerShell cmdlets. Don't worry if you weren't there from day one, it's
never too late to join in!
