We are noticing an increased number of calls where Organizations—particularly those in the financial and healthcare industries—are required by such regulations as SEC Rule 17A- 4 and the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) to archive and control access to their communications. New regulations, such as the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (SOX), highlight the need for all industries to maintain, store, and secure data, including electronic messages.
