Pauli2485 Presuming you are talking about Device-based licensing for Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise - Deploy Office | Microsoft Learn, then this isn't currently supported by the new Outlook for Windows. Right now, we get out license information from the accounts added to the app. Device based licenses are assigned to a Windows instance, which we don't consume right now. This isn't to say we'll never support it, just that it isn't part of what the new Outlook supports yet. Orgs who have that setup can continue to use the classic Outlook, which will serve that need.
I'm curious to understand more about this use case however. Are these truly frontline workers using a shared device? In that case, I think they are better off having the user each user just use all M365 web products. That way each user can easily log in and out of their accounts and ensure no data is left behind. Syncing to a native desktop app means the users data is always there for anyone to come in and use.
If they aren't actually shared devices, why don't they just get Business Standard/E3? I'm not sure what volume discount they may be receiving, but from our public prices that combo (M365F3 + EOP1 + M365 Apps for Enterprise per device) is more expensive than just buying E3.
