It’s that time of year again - the date you have all been waiting for! Today we’re excited to be celebrating MVPs, and the more 2600 community members that will be continuing their time in the program. Of course, we’re also thrilled to announce the 37 newly MVPs that will be joining the community this year. Welcome all; we’re so happy to have you on board!
The Microsoft MVP Award is a unique opportunity to honor technology experts who have shown a deep commitment to innovation, and have made outstanding contributions to their communities. This might be through speaking engagements, creating content, providing expert feedback or organizing events - but most importantly, the award is given to those who are passionate about technology, and have great community spirit!
This is the second year the program is announcing MVPs in one annual reward cycle (remember, we used to do it quarterly!), in an aim to bring the program closer together, and recognize our community in one, big way. MVPs are nominated by Microsoft team members, their peers - and sometimes themselves.
Visual Studio and Development Technologies MVP Peter Toonen has received the MVP Award this year for the 3rd consecutive time - based in The Netherlands, Peter has told us he is "looking forward to the years of sharing my knowledge with the community, but also learning from them."
Jen Kuntz from Canada has also had her MVP Award renewed this year; "this is my first renewal and it's a validation for me that the contributions I have made (& continue to make) since being awarded in October 2016 are worthy of another MVP award. It's a very special honor to even be included on this list in the first place."
Nicolas Prigent , was also delighted to wake up to the news of being awarded an MVP, "I am deeply honored to be part of this amazing group with many experts. This has been two crazy years for me so far and I will continue to share my knowledges with the community. The MVP community helps all the IT professionals to increase their knowledges and it is fantastic!"
New and renewing MVPs have the opportunity to connect with other community members online, through local events - and everyone’s favorite, the MVP Global Summit! MVPs can also look forward to joining the LinkedIn Learning Community Program where they can promote their own content, as well as having exclusive access to third party software and products.
If you know someone who you think deserves to be an MVP, head to our nomination page and learn what it takes to become one here . And for those who haven’t been renewed as an MVP this time around, it’s not goodbye! Check out MVP Reconnect - Microsoft’s official program for former MVPs to keep in touch with Microsoft and other community experts.
Congratulations to all!
